The donation range is quite broad (500-12,500) for the same 3,000 seats. It seems like there wouldn't be that much of a view difference for an additional 12,000 unless I am missing something...

I thought the same thing. Seems the only difference is the number of tickets you can buy. Even if you donated $500 and got the last pick for seats, I don't see a bad spot anywhere.
