It's not a talent issue.

It is certainly a talent issue.

Ill compose a list of players that have no buisness playing in the big 12. Not saying its these guys fault, I love the team but I'll call a FCS player an FCS player.

Mitchell Meyers
Devlyn Cousins
Ferch
Meeks
Miller
Sam E Richardson
Kamari Moya

Right now in their careers these guys should not be on the field. Expecting a defense to hold teams under 30 with 7 of 11 players that wouldn't play a down at any other big 12 school is silly.
Can't say I disagree. The eye test is certainly supporting that list.

I'll call out whoever the hell I want to call out. If you think any of those guys are big 12 ready right now then your either blind or not opening your eyes. Kamari played 4 plays... I dont give a ****. He might be great when he's a senior but the fact that we have to roll out a red shirt freshman to play safety is embarrassing. He's not Bob Sanders.

Man, you are tough. Wonder if you would tell them that to their faces. But I already know the answer to that.

I've never understood why ISU doesn't do this. IIRC, this is what Bruce did and had quite a bit of success.

So... We bring in guys without a lot of BCS offers and people complain we have no talent. But now people want us to bring in guys with no BCS offers? Got it. Makes perfect sense.

You're changing your story. First you said they didn't have the talent to be on a B12 team. Now you say they aren't B12 ready. Your first accusation is crap and unfair on so many levels. Your second point - where you changed your story - is valid.

All I know is that Wally didn't stop being a Wizard, and that Rhoads didn't forget how to coach. When he had talent at ISU in Chizik's players, the team showed it. The reason ISU won 3 games last year, and will win about the same this year is because the team has less talent now than it did early in Rhoads tenure here. ISU didn't lose to NDSU in 2009 or a UNI team in 2010, because ISU was more talented. ISU lost to UNI in 2013 and NDSU in 2014, because they were not more talented.

It took a prayer for both Iowa and ISU to beat UNI in 2009 and 2010. Don't think it's as simple as saying who has more talent each year.

I think the loss of Farniok was huge in determining assignments on the line. Maybe that was even bigger than the physical presence we lost.

OK, new strategy: We need Farniok on the field for his leadership but can't afford to risk him going down with another injury. So we line him up in a modified fullback role, stands should-to-shoulder with the the QB and barks out the blocking instructions to the line. He only blocks on pass plays picking up the lightweights coming around the corner.

I have said time and again that any team can win on any day. That hasn't been the case the last 2 years with ISU. These aren't two fluke losses the last 2 years, as ISU was dominated both times in the game. NDSU and UNI are never going to be an easy game, but you shouldn't get your azz handed to you by an FCS school. It isn't like either teams runs some complicated offensive system that ISU has never seen. They both just lined up, and whipped ISU azz at the line of scrimmage.

If we hadn't gotten a miracle pass on 4th and 20 we would have lost the last two to UNI

Correct. UNI has really outplayed us the last 2 times we played them and fully deserved to be 2-0 against us.

We got extremely lucky and pulled a miracle out of our rear ends to beat them a few years ago, but I think anyone that knows anything at all about football realizes that UNI outplayed us badly in that game too.

UNI outplayed us at some positions, notably both lines, but ISU outplayed them at others, notably QB and WR. The best receiver on the field made a huge play for us -- I wouldn't call that luck.
