As I mentioned in an earlier thread, my bookcases for my new home theater are now finished! (except for some finish sanding and staining) I can't wait to get my new 46" sony XBR4 hung between them. As promised, here are the pictures:

Very nice. Did you do that yourself?

My father and I designed it over the phone and e-mail, he cut the pieces in Iowa and drove them out to Colorado this week and we assembled them. He did a really great job with it. I couldn't be happier.

I wish my father was that handy. Of course the big question is what kind of TV is going right in the middle of the beautiful thing?!?!

I thought it was nice until I saw the Hidden Door. Then it went to really cool. Looks like you can even get behind that wall for all your electronics?
That would be sweet. Nice job.

I've decided to go with the 46" Sony XBR4, unless someone here knows of some reason I shouldn't. Behind the wall is all the power for the TV, and all surround sound components. The console in the middle is recessed into the wall so it's deep enough for the reciever/dvd player/ and whatever other component equipment I need and has a hole in the top of the cabinet for all power lines to come up through and the surround sound speaker wire is all prewired and comes together behind the wall as well. There will be no wires seen when its all installed.

I got the Sony SXRD 60 inch last year....the picture is awsome. Highly recommend the Sony if you are putting it on display.

Very nicely done! Have you considered going bigger than 46"? It may seem big now but most people after a short time wish they had gone bigger.

You've got the perfect setup to look into a HDTV projector. I'd look into mounting one of these on the ceiling as they are now really small and it's easy to be mobile with it. Also, you can make your screen as big or small as you want it to be.

Take a look at this site for info:

Projectors, Projector Reviews, LCD Projectors, Home Theater DLP Projectors at ProjectorCentral.com

And my company would be upset if I didn't push one of their models:

3M Projectors: 3M Digital Media System 878 DLP projector

Very nice. If you need any information on controlling all your electronics in the back room, let me know. I have an eye that controls all my remote electronics.

I have... The considerations are the width between the bookcases, and the fact that the seat farthest from the TV is only about 10-11 feet from the screen. I can't support a 52" LCD, but there are some 50" Plasma's that fit the space. I may still go with one of those, as they're a little bit cheaper.
