Here are the rules:

5.4.1 Description of Unsportsmanlike Conduct. Unsportsmanlike conduct
can occur before, during or after a match. It may include, but is not
limited to, such acts as swearing, baiting an opponent, throwing
headgear, failure to stop on the whistle, indicating displeasure with a call
or failing to comply with postmatch procedures.

Intentional breaches of decorum shall not be tolerated. This includes
such acts as spitting or blowing of the nose (into other than designated
receptacles and repositories), uniform straps down while still on the
wrestling area or other acts generally considered to be distasteful to
spectators, coaches and fellow competitors. Such acts shall be penalized
as unsportsmanlike conduct.

5.4.2 Penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct. A wrestler called for an act of
unsportsmanlike conduct during the pre- or postmatch period will result
in the deduction of one team point for the first violation; the penalty for
the second violation will be disqualification, the deduction of one team
point and removal from the premises.

The penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct by a wrestler during the
match will be one point for the first violation, one point for the second
violation, two points for the third violation and disqualification for the
fourth violation.

Unsportsmanlike conduct before, during or after a match by coaches,
athletic trainers, managers, physicians and noncompeting wrestlers will
follow the sequence of penalties listed in the Penalty Table.

The penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct are cumulative throughout
a dual meet or a tournament session for coaches, athletic trainers,
managers and physicians. These penalties are cumulative per institution.
They also are cumulative for a contestant for a match or dual meet.

You know what TarHeel, you are the exact reason that most Cyclone cant F****** stand you Hawks. You could care less about having class and not winning vs being classless and still brag about your team. I buy season tickets for ISU wrestling and would stop immediately if they brought this guy in. He is an arrogant piece of s*** and would rather lose every meet than have this guy be our coach!

You are right on.

The combo name of TarHeel and Hawk is almost too offensive even without the comments.

Behind you
I'm guessing he probably won, and made it look easy.

Metcalf won but didn't make it look easy at all. Mueller wrestled him very tough. It was 2-2 going into the 3rd period. Metcalf made the gesture as he walked off. He also refused to shake the Iowa coaches' hands as he came off the mat, unless I saw things wrong. Just my opinion but I think he did both because he wasn't happy with himself after the match.

Now if we were talking football or basketball I would be a little more accepting of some antics.

I know you think you're taking the moral high ground in the rest of your post, but this pretty much gets to the root of you and I think most Clone fans.

Look . . he is a little "johnny come lately" isn't he? Where was he after he left Iowa? Building his museum? Hanging out at Iowa??

Here is an undeniable FACT . . Iowa has dominated the sport for so long . . people have quit watching.

If you like Iowa dominating this niche sport great . . but I am sick of it.

I agree. A little domination can be good for a sport, witness Penn State WVB right now. But after awhile it can get old. The one thing that has saved wrestling to this point is that not too long ago, Minnesota was the team to beat. That and the revival that Cael Sanderson's run brought to the sport. While Hawk fans won't like it, the sport is going to fall into insignificance if they do happen to start long championship streaks again.

I hate Iowa more than you would ever know. But your comments are undeniably uneducated. That museum is a testament to every great wrestler. have you ever been there???? There is just as much about great ISU wrestlers as Iowa, and Olympic champions and the works. LIke I said before I HATE iowa and them owning us lately drives me nuts. Iowa paid him and gave him a chance as a head coach. ISU DIDNT!!! granted we had a great coach at the time and had no need for him. Iowa paid him and he built a dynasty there. LIke I said cant stand him but most of that because he is so biased to Iowa. But that doesnt take away from what he does for wrestling. which you are obviously not willing to see. Hate on Iowa and everything it entails.. I do that to, but to say he does nothing for wrestling is beyond dumb.

Hey . . I'm glad you like your museum. It will become a relic museum real soon as more and more schools shut down wrestling .. thanks in no small measure to the absolute monopoly the hawks have on the sport. Think of it this way, how many people will be NOT watching the National Tourney . . knowing that Iowa will dominate all competition there? Now, what if ISU and Iowa had split in the last two duals? That's right . . a whole bunch more. A chance for success breeds interest and excitement. But hey, glad you like your museum.

You are blind to the point. Pointless arguing with a wall I guess. The point wasnt that Iowa being dominant is good or bad. You said Gable does nothing for the sport and you are Wrong. You brought up the Museum and gave you some facts about the place. You never answered my ? Have you even been there?

Just so I have this straight, you're blaming Iowa/Gable for being too dominant?

That makes a lot of sense.

Maybe blame the teams and coaches of schools like Iowa State who compete and can't take the title from them no matter how hard they try. So instead of beating them, they knock the way they win and say it's bad for the sport.

Loser talk plain and simple.

If Brands was running the ISU program they would have back to back national championships.

You probably all ready knew that.

There would probably be a lot less fans to boot. I know I wouldn't support that, national championships or not. That type of **** just doesn't fly with me.

As I said before (and I said it to my wife while we watch), if my son was on a wrestling team where the coach let this **** go one, he wouldn't be on that team 1 second longer. Have some god damn sportsmanship, these are "kids" (as we always hear when people dog on the ISU MBB team), teach them this stuff is NOT RIGHT!:skeptical:

Wow . . a keyboard bully. Iowa is destroying a pretty decent sport that fewer and fewer people are watching . . so enjoy the ride there hawkster. Taint going to last much longer in a national sense.

So you don't think Iowa being dominant is BAD for the sport? Are you serious? I didn't say Gable did nothing for the sport . . he did when he was at ISU and early on at Iowa. What I did say IS, he is not my ambassador for the sport. He is tainted goods. He is a hawk ONLY guy. Now, if you can not comprehend that then there is nothing more that needs to be said.

I have never been to Watertown to see the museum . . . so, there is your answer. Now you answer my comments above.

Hey don't cry about Iowa dominating.....you have as much right to every wrestler coming out of high school as Iowa does. It isn't one sided look how close nationals was last year, how close you guys have been to beating us. Im not certain we can beat you at nationals and if your saying its monopolized well then that shows right there you have no confidence in your own team. I will agree Metcalf acts classless at times but the kid loves to win and dominate thats why with 15 seconds left and hes up by a couple points he is still shooting, and is disappointed if he doesn't dominate. I dont always agree with showboating and all but it adds to the excitment of the rival. If it weren't for the coachs argueing and wrestlers celebrating, it would just be any other dual. Don't get me wrong I completely disagree with Metcalfs motions but getting excited makes more people want to see the battles these 2 teams have.
As for Gable he is very one sided in his anouncing, and i don't even like listening to him announce, yet telling him to get out of the sport that is just plain stupid. This guy does so much for the sport. If he left you would see wrestling programs dropped at an alarming rate, so think before you tell this guy to disapper.

Madclone maybe before you speak you should see how much Gable does for wrestling outside of Iowa City.
Also what do you guys want Iowa to do quit trying? drop there program so others can win? maybe put more 2nd string guys out against you to even the odds? Yeah we will start sending jv to wrestle you if that makes you happy. How can you blame iowa for being good.
