to kind of hope Brady or Moss gets popped a good one when they are still in the game up 42-10 against Buffalo? And Bele-runemup-check is still going on 4th down? If Buffalo doesn't start tee-ing off on some guys, I'd be real suprised.

Not that I condone this sort of thing. Just saying that if a situation warrented this, this could be the time.

I think its ironic that everyone is saying its bad sportsmanship to run up the score. What would teeing off on a player be then? I don't think it will happen, because purposely injuring a player is way worse sportsmanship than running up the score.

I really hate the Pats but it's almost comical at this point. They have so little regard for the rest of the NFL and nobody can do anything about it -ha! I'd be loving it if I were a Pats fan.

The problem in wishing for something bad to happen, is that the NFL is too classy for anybody to do that. It's a big coaching fraternity, well -except Bellicheck has exiled himself now. My brother just lamented on the phone that the only player that would definitely take a shot at a Brady or Moss to pay them back (Rodney Harrison) is safely in the Pat's own secondary now! :)

The Colts and Steelers and some other teams could just as well have scored 50 on a few occasions this year but they shut it down in respect to the other team, and league. It's so comical now watching the Pats say F you to each team they play.

If the Patriots want to leave those guys in, then buffalo has no reason to not just do an all out blitz and pop him one. Whats the difference in being down 32 and 39?

I hate the Patriots, so from that perspective, I would have no problem with it....

But I suppose Buffalo should respect the New England players, even if their coach doesn't deserve it.

The Colts will take them out in the playoffs, so I'm not too worried about it. I really wouldn't mind seeing Bob Sanders put Moss out of the game.

Okay, not a Patriots fan here but what evidence could you possibly have to think that the Colts are going to win in January?? Just a hunch?

At the professional level I've got no problem with a team running up the score. But if I'm a Patriots player and Brady blows out a knee in the 4th quarter up by 5 TD's I'd be pretty ticked.

Bottom line is if team don't like it then STOP THEM! Personally I don't have a problem with it and I'm not even a Pats fan. They are a damn good team this year and I think it's a damned if you do damned if you don't situation if you "ease up" on a team just because you are up big already. Parcells talked about this a couple weeks ago how he's been in those situations where if you just knee the ball and give it to them, go for it, or whatever no matter what someone is not going to be happy with the play call and thinks that you are just showing up the other team. Just stick to your game plan. Everyone likes to whine when your team is getting your butt handed to you but the bottom is your defense isn't getting the job done and that's on you not the other team.

I agree and I am no fan of New England.

This is Professional Football! This is the NFL! If you don't like it go play intramurals, brother- go play intramurals!

These coaches and athletes get payed millions of dollars to play football, so do your job. NE should never let up. The fans pay good money to watch these games-they don't want to watch the Patriots quit in the second half.

In the business world would you ever hear anyone say- "We are making too much money. We're just too successful-it's embarrassing our competitors. We shouldn't try so hard."

Everybody stop you're whining and if you can't stop them just sit back and enjoy watching history in the making.

Ask the '92-'93 Oilers if they should have stopped running up the score on the Bills in the playoff game when they were up by 32.

I agree with what Madden said, it is Buffalo's responsibility to stop the Pats' from scoring. Not the Pats' job to stop themselves.

Yes, it may be the defenses' job to stop them, but when it's the fourth quarter and you've spent 3/4 of the game on the field running all over the field trying to keep up with New England's receivers (and are dead tired from doing so), and they're STILL throwing it down the field, how are they supposed to stop them? They got them into a 4th down and relatively decent yardage and New England went for it anyway. I don't care whether it's the defenses' job to stop the offense or not, the only reason the Patriots are doing this is for humiliation purposes, and that's beyond necessary. How did it feel to anyone when Kansas scored that last touchdown on us? I guarantee no one on this site liked it. I don't care whether it's the pros or not - sportsmanship transcends all levels.

Personally, I'm going to feel very little sympathy for anyone associated with New England, be it the fans or anyone else in the organization, when either Brady or Moss ends up with a season/career ending injury while running up the score in garbage time, or 10 years from now when the Patriots are once again the doormats in their division and everyone is taking it to them (and in this scenario there had better not be a peep from a soul in New England about the sportsmanship of opponents running the score up against them).

I'm not exactly sure what game some of you were watching, but what exactly did Buffalo do to make you think they could stop them?? I saw a great post on another site and I agree completely with it. The only people defending this are either Pats fans or don't understand football, apparently :)

"What do you geniuses think would happen if you stole a base against ANYONE in baseball when you were up 15 in the 8th inning? Do you think you would want to come to bat the next inning?

What do you geniuses think would happen if you shot back to back 3's with a minute left in the game up by 40 and then went for a breakaway dunk with 2 guys trailing you closely -against ANYONE in basketball at any level?

There's a thing called CLASS and RESPECT for your fellow competitor, that the Pats and apparently some of their fans on here-though a small % -don't have.

Now last night I thought wasn't even close to the level of other instances this year, I really didn't have a big problem with last night. They slowed it down eventually and punted from the 30 at the end of the game. It's the throwing deep with 2 minutes left trying to humiliate the 2nd string defense that gets me.

There are too many cases of good sportsmanship in the NFL every weekend to let one renegade coach/team ruin it for the rest of the League. Sports is about winning, I get that. It's not about tacking on meaningless TD's with 2 minutes left to cover the point spread."

I really think there's a difference when looking at this between professional sports and collegiate sports. In college sports, there is at least some resemblance of sportsmanship left. However, in professional sports sportsmanship is a thing of the past. I have no problem with what New England did...the front office will let the coach know if they have a problem with him using their multi-million dollar employees in the 4th quarter of a blowout. Until then, they can do what they want in my book, especially after watching the all the idiots celebrate every single little first down catch/run during the NFL games yesterday...talk about the "look at me" attitude.

Ok, to put it in perspective, I don't want to hear another person on this site complain about how Hayden Fry and the Sqwaks basically went out to humiliate us from 1983-1997, leaving their first string in to run scores up to 63-20, and the kind of jerk that Fry and Iowa fans are for reveling in doing so. I mean, after all, it was the Cyclone's job to go out and stop them, and it wasn't Fry's job to let up.
