I have to admit when I saw that Iowa has 3 protected rivals, who they were, and that they had requested them avoiding the top of the old Big 10 East was where my mind went.

Pretty good maneuver by Iowa, I'd say. Teams like Minnesota, Northwestern, Illinois, Indiana, Purdue, Nebraska, Rutgers, Maryland, Michigan State for sure, now even a weak Wisconsin, all should have picked each other for protected rivals.
