I'm looking for a Iowa State winter jacket that I can wear specifically to games. I've got a buddy who has a letterman style jacket for Iowa (leather arms, canvas body) that I'm kind of partial to, more so for the durability and fit. I really would like to stay away from puffy jackets, etc....or leather jackets, but what have others found?

I have my carharts for really cold weather, or my Columbia Titanium pants and coat for the other occasions, but was hoping to finding something within the spirit of ISU.

That jacket is pretty decent, but you're right that's not cheap...

I'd have to go with my Iowa State Starter jacket from 15 years ago...

I got a thin down coat from my girlfriend for X mas last year. They sold them around campus and at scheels. It was a stainless steel color and has the I state logo on the front right corner, with Iowa State on the back with a hood. It looks sharp and classy yet very warm. It was a very good price as well I believe $80. Not sure if they sell them anymore but would be a good choice if they do.

No need for a jacket. Be a man and go jacket-off this winter.

I just seen this jacket and thought it was kind of cool.

Nike Iowa State Cyclones Cardinal Conference Full Zip Performance Hoodie Jacket

It isn't cheap though.

I actually picked this jacket up last week. It's a pretty awesome jacket. Not sure if it's heavy enough to be a winter coat by itself, especially for winters in Iowa; but it should be fairly warm if you throw a sweatshirt on underneath. It's supposed to be waterproof too, which helps with warmth.

Also, if you get it off of that site like I did, sign up to be a football fanatic (which is free) and you get 10% of your purchase price credited to your account for your next purchase, so that helps with the price a bit.

Thanks for the tip and feedback. Options always seem limited.

I've even debated creating my own letterman jacket, gold sleves, red body, but haven't had luck finding I-State decals, etc....

Do what you want, but I've always considered letterman jackets for, well, lettermen. FWIW.

Yes, and I agree. Keep in mind, I'm not looking at replicating their jacket, but trying to find an alternative in the style.

Something similar to this....

I actually saw this.....but it's only medium-weight jacket, where as the one above is heavyweight.
