I was going to fashion a coat made of Husker, Longhorn and Hawkeye pelts, but I found that their skins were far too thin. Fortunately, I have heard a few words of encouragement from Paul Rhoads.

That'll keep me warm throughout the winter months.

I actually picked this jacket up last week. It's a pretty awesome jacket. Not sure if it's heavy enough to be a winter coat by itself, especially for winters in Iowa; but it should be fairly warm if you throw a sweatshirt on underneath. It's supposed to be waterproof too, which helps with warmth.

Also, if you get it off of that site like I did, sign up to be a football fanatic (which is free) and you get 10% of your purchase price credited to your account for your next purchase, so that helps with the price a bit.

Just a follow up on this jacket, if anyone is on the fence about getting it. I wore it today fly fishing in Northern Virginia. It was about 50 degrees, breezy, and rainy (hard rain at several points). It kept me warm and completely dry the entire time. I also love the waterproof zippered pocket on front for my cell phone, keeping it safe and allowing quick access. I highly recommend the jacket and think it is definitely worth the price.
