You want to get five stars into the program? Gotta get them to the NBA, period. That's how it works.
Isaiah Canaan, Cameron Payne, Georges Niang, Abdel Nader, Deonte Burton, Naz Mitrou-Long, and Monte Morris say "hi"... and they're not even five stars. Don't think "he can't get you to the pros" is going to be a problem.

TH and NWB.

Thanks for the clarification. Saying those two were similar is more agreeable than saying THT and TH were the same player. It will be interesting to see how THT develops as a defensive player. I think we all agree at times he passed up shots we thought he should be taking.

I thought all that mattered was that the most-talented players would play all the time?! What's this stuff about smart decisions?!

Watch out, you may have boxed yourself in...

It seems he ignored this for some reason.

I will agree with Marner that LW is a very talented athletic player who contributed greatly to ISU's success this season; however, the down side to LW was his penchant for turning the ball over. LW always tried to make the spectacular play and seemed to play to fast. When LW allowed the game to flow and played within the confines of the team system- the game slowed down for him and that was when he was at his best. I noticed Coach Prohm started sitting THT for long stretches late in the year when he would turn into the black hole- and it was usually LW grabbing those minutes.

Probably more to the story of why he didn’t get those minutes and Prohm has enough class just to not say and take the heat himself. Prohm’s job ultimately rides on putting the best players that give ISU a chance to win on the court. And I am not a Prohm apologist or fan-boy.

He needed someone to play defense so it's weird why it's a question by some as to how guys like LW or Lard didn't get more time.

LW was voted the 6th man of the year in the conference, and averaged more minutes on the floor than some of the starters and that is still not enough for the writer of this article.

This team faced the same problem the whole year, to many "me first" guys and not enough people playing for the name of the front of the jersey. ISU was one of the most talented teams in the league, but they never became a team, and it showed in the loses.

Its easy to play carefree when the shots are falling like their were in the Big 12 tournament, but when they weren't falling, is when they quickly reverted back to just chucking up shots, forgetting to rebound the ball, and the "I am going to get mine" attitude that was a problem all year.

TT proved again this year, that less offense but great defense gets you a long ways in the tournament. When Larry E. arrived in Ames, I hated the way we played BB, was used to the days of Johnny Orr, where ISU ran the floor and was exciting to watch, now we are scoring the in the 50's. But then I noticed something different, we were winning, every trip down the floor was a battle, we were grinding people. Was it a fun to watch as the Orr teams, no, but we won the games, and with that came the top 10 rankings and high seeds. Also conference championship. Lets rebuild with that mindset, D it up and let the chips fall where they may.

It seems There we’re a lot of close games where we seemed to whither down the stretch. Was that because LW and Lard didn’t start? It seemed to me Lard was often in foul trouble and LW was in there. Problem was we missed too many quick 3 point shots, free throws and turned the ball over too much In the last few minutes of a game.
