A user on reddit is making a weekly Imperialism map. It started out by giving each school every county that is closest to them. If you lose, you give your territory to another team.

We might not have a lot of coverage, but some expensive real estate with OU and Ohio State. My friend was showing this to me over the weekend, pretty cool even though it's meaningless.

Reddit does tons of weird stuff like this. r/cfb is a great sub with really talented people that create some crazy statistical things.

So for Iowa State to get its land back in Iowa, we would have to beat Penn State?

This has been so much fun over the course of the season

Yeah.

I'd kind of like to see a version where to obtain land you had to beat a team at their place though. Take their castle, win their land. Would mean less movement, id guess, but each move would be more impactful.

What's the furthest SW portion for ISU for? And why 2 spots out east?

Oklahoma was undefeated and had accumulated various territories (including the territories that the teams they had beaten had already accumulated). Since Iowa State won, we collected all of the territories OU had through the first 5 weeks.

I'd assume the SW part of Texas is UTEP, who lost to OU in Week 1. The two out east are Indiana and OSU. When Oklahoma beat Ohio State, they got both of those territories since OSU beat IU already.

Oklahoma beat UTEP in week 1 claiming the SW territory. Ohio State had the two spots out east until OU beat them, and then we beat OU claiming those territories.

Ah, got it. Thanks. Was just thinking it was for beating who you beat.

This is just straight cut throat what's yours is mine. Fun.

On that, I should never be a dictator since I don't know how this works.

We don't have a chance to get it back unless we play a Big 10 team who happens to be Penn State's last lost of the season, barring they don't lose to someone else before the bowl game.
