My prediction is each team will have somewhat equal fouls called but WVU will be raping our players every play offensively and defensively. Because we are soft, I call WVU by 8
Hopefully we won't become frustrated with all of the fouling and as a result get ourselves into foul trouble (especially Niang). Also hope Prohm stands up for his players early when the mugging begins.

One of the keys to countering this style is to play on through the fouls and assume that they're not going to call them. Sometimes I think you see the guys let up and lose the ball that way. As far as frustration and foul trouble, the refs seem to even it out regardless of how clean the opponent plays. It's really hard to justify, but it's been happening all year (and before).

I predict that Thuggins will make is first complaint to the refs within 12 seconds of the opening tip and not stop until the final horn. I also predict that the refs will call a bucket of fouls on WVU in the first 6 minutes or so but will eventually listen to Bob's incessant whining and will start to call it to even things out by calling fouls on ISU and swallowing their whistles while Mountaineer players go through Cyclones to steal the ball or get offensive rebounds. ISU ends up with close to 20 turnovers, nearly half of which are due to uncalled fouls.

Prepare your anus.

The other thing they've mastered is the art of initiating contact into a guy in legal guarding position and drawing the foul. That drives me bananas, as it's pretty blatant at times.

this was posted on phog. take it how you want.

Kind of Ferris Bueller-ish, but a co-worker of mine is married to the cousin of Matt Thomas. Co-worker and wife go to Dubuque, Iowa all the time, so conversation with Matt Thomas is pretty regular.
He said that Hoiberg took on a lot of guys who were rough around the edges, but was a master at getting them to channel their inner turdness onto the court.
The new coach has absolutely no control over the guys. Thomas in fact wanted to transfer last year when Prohm was hired and on the job for a few weeks, because he could see what was going to happen. Prohm begged him to stay, but Thomas regrets the decision.
So when McKay was suspended, I was surprised, but any implosion from the team doesn't shock me. They are a bunch of low character guys without strong leadership.

Right, Matt Thomas, who has flourished like never before under Prohm ( and TJ) and has become probably the 3rd most loved player on the team behind GN and MM, regrets remaining here and says Prohm has no control of the team....and this comes from a new CF sign up from a month ago ( who hangs out on Phog.)...

ISU stuck with Matt through thick and thin......his darkest hours battling booze ect......I think he understands how loyal both the coaching staff, and the fans, have treated him. Like all the players he may have been upset when Hoiberg departed......beyond that the transfer claim probably BS propaganda.
This isn't true either, as battling booze and having a DUI after a couple drinks are VERY different....careful with how you phrase that, in fairness to Thomas....

I actually feel good about this game, revenge

Isu 78-74

Prohm will have to change his ways of substituting, least in Big 12. Otherwise WVU and Huggins will do to us what Baylor did, score in the paint. Substitute freely while wearing us out with a full court press defense and fast break offense. Without McKay at his best, we are doomed to a blowout.
Prohm is doing a horrible job of resting Morris and the starting 5, so they :wideeyed:
are fatigued at the end of the game when they are needed to rebound, play D and run their high octane offense. Bad coaching so far.

I think it is important to recognize that Matt didn't have a DUI in that he did not blow a .08. I am pretty sure he was charged under 321J.2A for being under 21 and having an alcohol concentration over .02. I don't know that I would call that either "battling booze" or a DUI.

And only sure thing is CF meltdown, win or lose at this point.

thanks for the added clarity, further makes my point that saying "battling booze" is pretty poorly worded

hey I've admitted to being a KU fan. not over here trying to start crap. just wanted the ISU fans opinion on the matter. I want ISU to win tonight because I don't like the hack fest of WVU but I don't think ISU will because of lack of depth.
