I would think ISU Center has an advantage over Wells Fargo, Hilton is paid off and events are all about generating incremental revenue: parking, concessions, etc. Plus once Cytown is equivalent to 5 or 6 days of convention business.
parking being the biggest one....sure, there's lots around Wells Fargo but nothing compares to the wide open lots in between JTS and Hilton

And it’s these winter things that are the bigger issue, can always hold events at cytown over the summer but getting people there when it’s cold is the hardest. I would love for it to become the concert center like when I was in college again.

Those are disappearing with CyTown, but there will still be plenty of parking for the tournament. IMO.
Shouldn't be an issue.

Whatever Hilton/Trice parking displaced because of Cytown has to be replaced by Jamie. Otherwise he's missing a revenue opportunity from Cyclone Club members.

It has been posted here several times, the reconfiguring they did with the parking lots to prepare for CyTown actually results in more parking spaces than we had before.

Spaces might be there but it certainly doesn't equal improved parking.

The Wolves don't draw boo the last I knew. Do the Wild draw well? The Well I assume is just charging for the space so I assume the draw doesn't matter to them?
I have never been to Wolves games. Wild games are fun but Jackie is cringe there too, just not as ear piercingly loud. Guy we sit by at JTS has season hockey tickets and groaned the second he first heard her voice at a football game.

I am excited to have the tourney in CyTown. Hope they don’t gouge it on parking but there are alternatives. We went every year for years to the finals until they moved it to Friday, husband still works. Wonder if they will continue with finals on Friday or go back to Saturday.

Yes, the development of the RV Village was a big part of this. It freed up a ton of spaces that were being used for RVs and buses during football season.

The boys only have 28 games at state basketball the girls have 35. The girls play on Saturday because they have to. The boys don't play on Saturday because they don't have to.

Seems like a solid move. Still located in the center of the state, lots of parking, plenty of hotel and restaurants (especially with Cytown coming), and a great bball venue.
