Who's the head of the Alumni Association? The guy that was on the field on the mic before each home football game? I'm too lazy to look. Him and Cael would be VERY strong support...

Jeff Johnson. He should never be allowed on the field before a football game again. I cringed every time. Some of the worst cheers ever. Completely did not flow, mesh, or otherwise congeal with a "rowdy" atmosphere.

It's completely unrelated to basketball, but a Free Lucca chant in JTS would have been a-w-e-s-o-m-e

I agree with you to an extent. I too cringed when he came on the field, but I also appreciate what the dude was trying to do. It takes a huge set to walk out on that field and try to get that crowd going, many of whom want nothing more than to eat their warm potato chips and sit on their hands.

I thought that was at Kinnick?

You're right, at the time Jeff is on the field most people are finishing their last beer in the tailgate lot or waiting in line to get in the gate

Apparently, The appeal to the Student-Athlete Reinstatement board will be a Teleconference with both Institute and Student Athlete given a chance to explain their side on the issue. I thought I read somewhere that Dec. 10th is the "hearing". Cross your fingers.

This is a really good thing. I think it'll be a lot harder to take a year of a kid's eligiblity when you've actually talked to him. It'll help humanize him, and Lucca will cease simply being a name and case number.

Agreed. Not a huge fan at the moment but love the concept.

And, I really like him as a person/fan. Met him at Colorado last season, he's a character and a great guy. Held someone's baby during the game - insisted on it, in fact.

I'll give him props for trying to wake up a stadium that otherwise would be dead until the football team comes out. I know I couldn't go out there and do his "job"

They don't need him on the field. They just need to blare some rock music and show some sweet videos on the board.

That was my son. He also fed him while we were at the tailgate.
