Why would it be either/or? If AU, ASU, and CU all want in, find a way to grab all three.

I"m fine with all 3 but CSU gives you nothing. It's dead weight. Grab BYU or Boise with that 14th spot.

If the Arizona schools are really at play, (which I HIGHLY DOUBT they are)..... I am not sure why you would even want to take CU/CSU in the event that you could actually land Arizona and ASU.

In that scenario, I would recommend waiting for bigger fish from the P12. Utah/BYU might be an option down the road if the Arizona schools left, and you might hit the lottery if one or both of the Socal schools wanted out.

I think you absolutely take 4 to get 14 to even up with the SEC, B1G, and ACC, and stabilize with a GOR extension and teams/rivalries that aren't complete projects, and can potentially add more value to future contacts right away. It's a compromise, but then you pass the instability 'hot potato' over to the PAC without completely destroying their conference and leaving them with no other courses of action. They'll be fine, which is what you want, but taking a bigger fish from them would do too much damage. Last thing the Big 12 needs is to be known as the PAC killer.

Ultimately you need quality additions to prove the Big 12 model is the better revenue model for the future, which is a hard case to make when you also have to get into the brand-building game. Yeah, you have CSU, but you get two land-grant colleges with the deal and only one brand-building project.

Yea don't do that because I would be shocked if atleast 3-4 rb didn't get decent carries this year.

Our problem has typically been that our line is too mediocre and defense too porous that it's hard to find carries for 3 backs before we're down 3 TDs. And in fairness, Warren was just too good compared to the backups last year to put him on the sideline. Hope that changes this year!

If those schools were in the cards, I would maybe take out Colorado State and maybe add one of the New Mexico schools. Try and cover three states instead of two. But not sure what viewership pull Colorado, Arizona and Arizona State have in New Mexico if they did not get a school in.

New Mexico would be interesting. Decent basketball program and a football program that is the complete opposite from most other Big 12 teams. But honestly, the attendance for UNM football games is pretty parhetic.

That's exactly why. Right now we are the weak link in conference realignment. I'd rather it be them than us, that doesn't make it out in tact.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, if we were to expand west by adding AZ, ASU and CU, that might be the beginning of the end for WVU in the Big12. It is over 2000 miles from Morgantown to Tucson. The Big12 would have to get creative with scheduling with a conference that spread out.

I do think if we go West, it's a matter of time before WVU bolts for the ACC. Especially if the ACC were to lose a team to the SEC or B1G eventually.

I can't blame them. If we head west, it's not a good fit for them long term.

That may be the case for a year or two, but the goal will be to run it down peoples throats and then pass when they creep up in the box. Once we have enough experienced horses [depth] hold on!

You say CSU is dead weight, but demand grabbing either BYU or Boise St.

2. Boise St is now dead weight. Their academics are worse than some community colleges and their football glory days are behind them - they peaked a decade ago. They are now well on their way to irrelevance. Just because they put up nice seasons now doesn't mean they are any longer relevant.

I think CSU has a lot of growth potential. If they get put in to make the rest happen I have zero problem. Fort Collins is an EXCELLENT road game.
