I think Iowa is probably better than most people on this board are willing to admit. However, their minor-league schedule is probably going to eff them over. They will have one shot at a legit W if they can reach the Big 10 championship game, and that might not be enough to boost them past teams with quality resumes. Iowa has a good team but is playing in a division that his historically bad, even by Big 10 standards.

Pac-12 is really starting to feel the heat. Utah was only winning at Washington 24-23 and have been getting some really terrible (for Washington) flags. Very obvious they're at least trying to keep Utah ranked at least high enough to be worth something if they play Stanford for the championship.

I still think it is the Pac-12 looking out of the playoffs at the moment. Nortre Dame could sneek in and compete for a last spot but I think the winners from the other 4 are looking pretty good atm.

Notre Dame is a lock if they win out. They'll enter the top 4 Tuesday and be in the rest of the way as long as they win each game by a point. SEC champ is in, they've shown that already with the 2/4 initial ranking.

I do think if ND is in they will realize the outrage it'd cause to only include TWO conferences in the playoffs, so ND is bad for second SEC team. Clemson dropping a game they shouldn't or OSU not winning B10 is the huge wild card. Otherwise I think it's ND/Clemson/Ohio State/SEC with the Pac and Big 12 out even if Baylor/OK State run it.

Judging by last years selections and this years initial rankings, I think ESPN should quit the pretense and set up a 20 team semi-pro league with the teams they like and let the rest of us go back to playing college football with regional conferences.

Very likely. If Baylor or OSU wins out, could they knock out Clemson with their weaker schedule?

An undefeated B12 team will make the playoff. There would be riots if Teams with a loss get in over say an undefeated OSU with wins over two top 10 teams.

I know this is not factored into this completely but looking at Sargain is something that I like to take a peak at. In the latest Ranking, SOS is #1 and 10 of our 12 opponents are in the top 60 rank(exceptions are UNI and KU).

Ya, our schedule is brutal. Don't let the hoks try to perpetuate the "ISU wouldn't be any better in the Big 10" Myth.

So they only have one real game left and that's a below average Nebraska team. Impressive
