I am sure glad I have a family that will schedule around things that we all enjoy. If our Thanksgiving was on Saturday, my parents would expect me to miss it. Frankly, it would be cancelled. . We may or may not have purposely scheduled a funeral so that it didn't fall on an average conference basketball game day.

I'm obviously not criticizing anyone for missing the game due to family obligations (mostly), but it always makes me grateful for my family.

Really very few good excuses to not make the game if you are in Iowa. Cyclone Fans fill the Jack. Don't be wimps because of the cold. Hold Thanksgiving in Ames, bring the family.
