Middle linebacker Phillip Dillard  and cornerback (converted receiver) Isaiah Fluellen:Swirl: , a pair of top Husker backups, suffered knee injuries Saturday and will undergo MRIs.
“There are some preliminary reports, but I don’t want to make mention of anything prematurely until we can find out exactly what’s wrong,”
Nebraska coach Callahan said. “I’m hopeful nothing’s wrong.”

Marlon Lucky has a minor neck injury and may miss a game. Cody Glenn (alias Stewart Bradley according to ESPN) may be the starter.:8Ball:

Courtney Grigsby the converted running back hurt his wrist again which has a safety cast on it.:China Man:

Cornerback: perhaps NE has only two dependable players at this point. Courtney's arm is injured to the point he might not be able to intercept the ball.

More update:
Dillard tears ACL
Phillip Dillard, the Huskers' No. 2 middle linebacker, tore his ACL on Saturday, his guardian confirmed Sunday.

Dillard will miss the rest of the season.

The 6-foot-1, 255-pound Dillard played as a true freshman in 2005 and opened the 2006 season Saturday with four tackles against Louisiana Tech.

"The good thing is, it happened early in the season, and he can use his redshirt," said guardian Tyrone Lynne. "It may end up working out better.

"Obviously, Phillip feels bad. The good thing is, he had an excellent fall camp and then showed the coaches he could do it in a game."

Yes. As the NE turf dried out after the rain, the cleats were catching on the turf. Lucky we play at home this year.

And their low angle or crotch cam did not look too good on the large HD screen for the intro. Glitches again.

I have a co-worker who played for Nebraska in the 80's and he's been bragging about these stadium renovations, and the fact that Memorial Stadium will have the largest TV in the world. I love the fact that before the first game, Texas had installed a new, even larger HDTV.

The Texas stadium scoreboard is twice the square footage of Husker Red, although Husker Red can eventually be updated to show almost as many piztels of the crotch cam (as all knowing Red fans call it now) as the Texas scoreboard.
