They should be ashamed.

But.... they're not. Whether news or sports, people who "report" today have an agenda. So, not sorry, not ashamed, just keep moving ahead on the agenda. I suspect most recruits know this, but it doesn't mean they aren't frustrated or even angered by it, I would think.

This person stated that coaches weren't blown away by his performance when he competed in front of them. I call BS. When did this happen? Covid did not allow this before June and then he only took two visits. One to Iowa State and one to Iowa. I don't think he attended any camps this summer.
He went to KSU in early June and Missouri in Mid June.

The fact the Iowa staff leaked this to their favorable press to soften the blow of not getting him seems... low class, desperate, pathetic, petty, and unbecoming of a lady. They should be ashamed.
Well, if you are talking about Hawkeye ladies let me give you a couple prime examples.
* Hawkeye female fan puts the Hump in the Hump Dome in Minneapolis
* Vodka Sam . . . enough said

It was texted to me from a HOK I know. He is spewing the same rhetoric though, that Deyo's grades will make him ineligible, won't be able to qualify, that he will have to go to Iowa Western, that his offer was not committable to the HOK's, blah, blah, blah.

Have they gotten to dissing his character yet? We got the old tired Hawk forum standby's "grades" and "we didn't want him anyway" and "not that good in camp/workouts" etc. Maybe dig up something about how he got in a playground fight in kindergarten? And where was he the night JBo got KO'd?

247 only lists visits to Iowa State and Iowa. Missouri wasn't even listed as recruiting him.
Look at Rivals. Unofficial visits to both schools. Missouri was interested in him and had been for awhile they just never offered.

All of what you said is accurate, yet seems so par for the course given who you are talking about. Did any of us expect differently? Those guys out East act like junior high girls after a breakup.

Creative Writing. Their dorky pundits are definitely creative coming up with reasons when prospect after prospect rejects them!
Let’s be honest. The exact same thing happens here whenever something goes the way we don’t want it to. People start posting unfounded rumors.

Pot, meet kettle.

The big difference is that it's supposedly professional reporters doing it not just rando posters.

If Chris Williams was reporting crap like that after a recruit went somewhere else I would be absolutely shocked.

I think this was a big reason. It's all about recruiting the moms. Always has been and always will be.

"When me and Coach Campbell sat down, we had a great conversation,” he said. “It brought my mom to tears. It touched hearts, and we have a great connection.”
Howard Brown said something similar on his vlog. He said Campbell connected with Brown's mother and he said his mom doesn't trust many people.
