The Team Rankings are simply a combination of the number of recruits based on the individual player "score". It is possible for a team to have a high ranking simply because they landed a large number (20+) recruits with average scores (85.00). Take a look at the average (Avg) of the team to get a true reading of how a team is doing. In Iowa States case, right now the team average is 85.54 with 14 recruits...pretty good...in fact, pretty much the highest team average in his tenure at ISU. As for Clemson, yes, they are ranked behind ISU, but a closer look shows that their team average is 92.02, and their class is ranked 30th with only 8 recruits.

The team ranking also doesn't look at team "need". But, it does give a good general sense on how teams are with respect to other teams...you just have to dig a bit more into the metrics.
Thank you. The constant mention of class ranking at this point drives me mad. It means so little.

Rutgers at 13????? Wtf!!!!??

I don't follow rankings much as I'm more in the 'see how they really do' camp, but Rutgers will likely see a bump at least for a few years with Schiano back.

Hasn't Rutgers scooped up multiple 4 star players?

The formula for the stupid recruiting rankings game isn't that complicated.

Ok. I hate and never go over there, but I couldn’t help myself this morning. Some highlights:

current “headline” under football highlighting a class from 15 years

couple fun comments from the Deyo thread:

“Clowns must have a bagman. That's the only reason somebody would go to that sh*thole.”

“People say it’s no big deal to be last in the Big 10 in recruiting in July. Well it is a big deal because recruits don’t want to jump on a sinking ship and now ISU is on the rise. I don’t know how, but now we are losing re recruits to those sh*t bags so we must be in trouble.”

Quit living in last year. The 2021 class is done, and there are no more recruits to come from it. What exactly have we done well with in the 2022 class?
Bottom of the Big 10 and getting smoked by our douche bag little brothers to the West. Puke.”

“I will flat say it. Leave aside ISU who is kicking ass on the field and with a young coach. We have an older coach with a son nobody likes. This is the result. And it won’t get bettter. Period.”

It isn't the truth. It's three recruits, we'll be fine without them, and you don't get a trophy for recruiting.
It’s not just 3 recruits. It’s Arlen Harris, Micah Riley, Stokes, Imming, McLaughlin, Helm, Kendrell Williams, Skylar Bell, Ricky Parks, Jalon Peoples, Isaac Thompson, and now Hunter Deyo.”

Is this his first year back? I just find it odd you flip the narrative that fast after all that's happened there.
2nd year back. Last year they had a bunch of close losses and even almost beat Michigan. Probably should’ve but I think they missed a field goal in crunch time.

Not saying that means they should be pulling a bunch of great recruits, but Greg knows how to recruit that area. Half of their 2022 recruits are from NJ and the rest are from eastern states (yes I called Ohio east).

The guy who says "I will flat say it..." gets it. Expect a slow drowning at Iowa given the older (near oldest) coach with a son nobody likes. Throw in the horrible treatment of some players and you get a death spiral. I, for one, keep rooting for Barta to keep throwing out those extensions...the only winner...the Ferentz family empire...$6+ million a year and rising!

I felt kind of bad for HawkinCentralIa while I was reading that thread, until I got to the last two pages where he led the charge in the “doesn’t have the grades” bs.

So getting away from taking about the in-state program on the decline, what does this mean for ISU? Are we going to get back to a 4 man front with the DT talent that we have coming in? Or are we going to see a constant substitution pattern to match situations?

Nobody here knows that answer. We will get ehe best players on the field to succeed against the offense that day.
