All due respect, I don't really think they were trying to make it about themselves. They were just trying to keep control of it. Seem it was very handsy and in your grill both ways. With both sides chirping and complaining too much for my liking. I thought the game was too physical. and it would have been really hard to officiate.

all in all it was fair game so not a lot to complain about.

Every game against a Huggins coached team is "too physical". Been that way since his days at Cincy.
His KState teams were brutally physical and took a lot of cheap shots at players.

Huggy may be a good coach, but there are a lot of things about style of play that he coaches, the way he recruits (remember assistant coach Delante Hill with his huge salary that came with getting Beasley and others?) that border on or cross the line of being dirty.

Some moronic WVU fan posted this on ESPN's site...

"Overweight, overpaid, and most importantly overrated are just a few quality
adjectives I would use when describing Fred Hoiberg."

Hahahahaha WHAT?!?!?!?!!?! How is he any of those things?

This was originally said about Huggins by a supposed bad West Virginia fan. Don't read into it because there was nothing there.

I like his style. Coach Huggins is extremely candid as a previous poster eluded to. I don't know if you ever noticed but he doesn't seem very enthused with meeting with the press. Don't think interviews are his thing. But, he is an extremely intelligent coach.

You will never see Coach Huggins in a suit, as he ALWAYS wears a warm-up sweats to games. Coach Pat Knight was the only other coach that I could recall doing this.
Who was the Iowa coach that got run out of town for wearing sweats Was it Raveling?

I think he even wore a sweater for Big 12 Media day at the beginning of the season. He is a unique, genuine coach. And I dig that.

My guess was that he was referencing a referee in saying "that mother ****** right there" or whatever he said. I'll bet it looked so awkward because Fred wasn't sure what he was referencing to at first.

It's not Fred's style at all, but I kinda wish he would have flipped Huggy the bird and walked away. :twitcy:

Former Hok coach George Ravelling had a similar wardrobe. Some guys just don't look good in a suit. Huggins radiates the goomba/used car salesman vibe regardless of what he wears. Must be his hair ...

I'd bet that Fred hates Huggins with a passion. Of course, he would never say anything like that publicly.

Fred is not going to say anything negative about an opponent on the public stage. If someone did overhear exactly what HuggyBear said, that might be an example of the one positive opportunity for social media.

He's about the biggest a--hole that ever coached, but go ahead and like him!

"Up yours for trying to steal my thunder!!!"

Huggins was watching Kane. Then the last few seconds Kane went to the basket and Huggins was pointing at him. Did Kane make the basket cause the camera cut to the coaches?

In a post game interview Kane did say he was tempted to go dunk on them since they were still trying to steal the ball away. He said he resisted because he's better than that.

Fred and Huggy joking around in the corridor later really doesn't prove anything. We will never know what was actually said because Fred is too much of a gentleman to say. It really doesn't matter anyway. I hope it was about the students by the visiting team's tunnel. Anyone associated with WVU has no room to complain based on what it is like at their arena. This old fuddy-duddy hopes that the students over there did get under their skin.

Actually you do know, I already told everyone on here. What I said is a fact.

George Raveling at Iowa was the first that I recall to break the coach wears a suit dress code. It's one of the reasons that Iowa fans used to not give him the respect and support that he deserved for his coaching ability. Raveling only needed 3 years to realize that he needed to move on from Iowa City.

Don't forget George Raveling ...or am I dating myself?

Hey guys, I think this George Raveling fella didn't wear suits, either.

I watched the last seconds and Kane didn't even pretend to go up for a shot, he simply dropped the ball and walked to the sideline when the clock hit zero. I think Huggins maybe was upset about the students taunting him over by the tunnel, they were yelling at him the end of the half and when he came out after half. Not sure why he would bring it up with Fred though.
