How long will the men's b-ball team keep the AP ranking streak going?

This. Anyone in the 20-25 range can drop out of the rankings without even losing. If a team has a hot run in an early tourney with a few impressive wins, they move into the rankings and have to knock someone out. I have no idea where ISU will open the season ranked but that 20-25 range is a danger zone for teams as far as staying in the polls. I hope ISU is able to keep it going; it's an impressive streak and boosts the overall resume of the Big 12.

CyKings is correct, among major too-early polls, consensus was, not in top 25.


However -- some of the top 25’s include teams that should not in be above ISU at this point. SI’s ranking, for example, has SMC and URI ranked, but not Iowa State. Not sure I buy it.


A few of the ones I saw didn’t include a “just missed the cut” so who knows how closely those considered Iowa State.
