Testifying
It’s quite interesting looking at all of the different threads and how much we disagree with each other. Even on Cyclone sports topics. There is so much name calling and basically telling other Cyclone fans to get ****** because of their opinion. If some ordinary person came on here and read through these threads, I think they’d be surprised there isn’t riots at every Cyclone tailgate or game. I just find it unbelievable we can’t come together as Cyclone fans. We can’t even come together during wins on here.
You can't even stick to one username for very long.

We're all pretty much aware of the divisions between posters regarding politics, coaches, players and uniforms. It's a microcosm of life.

There are some folks at ISU that I would walk away from, some that I would have a beer with (while debating what actually IS barbeque - hint, it's not ketchup and ground beef!) and some that I would be best buds with.

Same on CF. I have a few folks on ignore because their sole purpose here is to fan flames, and I don't need that kind of noise. There are a few threads I stay out of because a) I don't give a damn about the topic and b) they get pretty toxic, repetitive, or both.

You don't have to like everyone on the site. Neither do I. :)

If only more posters were like KC, this would be a much better site.

It's a sports message board, we're not immune to anything that goes on with other message boards or the internet in general.

Wouldn't mind cracking down on personal attacks though. But healthy disagreement should be expected, and encouraged.

I mean, there are plenty of posters I don't respect on here, but I also don't think going to Iowa State or being an Iowa State fan makes you any more worthy of respect than someone else. Going to Iowa State or being an Iowa State fan doesn't make you a better person
Hey **** you man! We can all agree that we're better than Hawkeyes

that island napoleon got sent to
The only poster I ever criticize personally is Argent. Other than that I try not to say that people's opinions are wrong or dumb. If I disagree with a take on something I try to explain why I think my way is better, but their experience shapes what they think just as my experience shapes what I think. People get far too caught up in why the poster is bad because they have a different opinion rather than why the opinion is bad.

Yeah sorry for thinking that banging 13 year olds is bad

This board is no different than in real life. I've seen plenty of disagreements between fans at games, even saw 2 "gentleman" who had to have been in their 50's fighting in front of their grade school aged children. One guy threatened to go back to his pickup and get his gun, at the point I kept walking to my car.
Alcohol and stupidity. Can you name a better duo?

I've had Cyclone fans jump start my car without asking. Give me a "Go Cyclones" in all parts of the country.

Offer me beer and food just because. Stop me in stores just to talk about Iowa State.

Personally I have no issues with Cyclone fans. Good folks

Happens with every fan base.

Was out with buddies a month ago who are Packers fans and all was good until somehow the Rodgers/Favre debate came up and we weren't even talking football.

Was an entertaining few minutes.

A strong communitee isn't one that gets along all of the time. I could go in about what that means for society but nah.

Wanna experience some real hate? Venture onto the political threads. Intolerance for anything conservative is mandatory over there.

I can only imagine you haven’t been here that long. There’s a difference between intolerance for conservatives and intolerance for excusing trumpism guised as conservatism. 2008-2016 proves that.

Basketball game threads are FAR worse than anything in the cave. The cave is kind of a game that everyone plays...basketball game threads are pure hatred and self loathing.

Don’t ever forget the rampant stupidity.
