I don't like remakes much, but the IT remake was really good. I love the original (Tim Curry is the man!), but it was a bit boring. It was a made for tv movie, after all.
I liked Tim Curry, but just could not get past the Jack Tripper/John Boy/Venus Flytrap combo. Didn't have anything against them in their other roles, but that's who I saw in my mind when I watched it.

Thank you all for the feedback. I will finish up the seeding tonight. Does anyone want to set up the brackets and post the matchups? I'm not too sure how to do that? If anyone is willing to do that, I can send the seedings. @CycloneRulzzz are you up for the challenge?

Sure I can do it

If there is some sort of "official" list out there in the ether of the greatest horror flicks of all time, I'd start there and use an S-curve.

There are quite a few lists of you google it, but most seem to give a lot of weight to older movies that aren't going to resonate here. This is probably the most useful one IMO.

Ugh...and they use a screen shot from one of the worst adaptations of all time.

Bracket has been pm'd to me when I get confirmation on a few things I will get a selection show thread up.

I know the other tournaments got some flack. @demoncore1031 did this all by himself and this is another tough genre to bracket as you have remakes and franchises galore. I just ask everyone not to get overly critical when the bracket comes out.

Thank you for doing this! I had to keep some of my favorite movies out of this in favor of movies that are more popular, but that is ok. There are some matchups and potential matchups that I am looking forward to see what happens.

I ended up leaving out movies like Gremlins and Shaun of the Dead because they are not quite horror movies. There are a few movies that are borderline horror movies that did make it, such as Tremors, Maximum Overdrive and The Lost Boys.

The little kid vampires gave me nightmares as a kid.

"Let the Right One In" is really good take on child vampire. I haven't seen the English remake series, the original is great.

Not a "horror" movie but I find the Kirsten Dunst kid vampire to be the most scary/intriguing part of Interview with the Vampire too.

Speaking of foreign movies adapted for Americans to avoid reading subs...The Audition is a flawless horror movie. Probably not popular enough to win a contest like this, but it'd be in my final four.

The Ring I think is actually equally good original and remake, but Let the Right One In and The Audition are both way better modern foreign horror movies IMHO.

The only movie that really "scared" me was The Blob,
The original or the Kevin Dillon remake?

One thing about horror is there are so many sub genres. Suspense, Slasher, Monsters, Blood movies
Between Amazon & Roku there is a never ending supply of horror movies, mainly bad, but horror nonetheless.

Did anyone watch the series Blood Drive on SyFy a few years ago? lol
I know it's not a movie but it was a crazy show

Audition bored me to tears, Maybe I should give it another try.

I thought the American remake of the Ring was better than the original. Ringu was like a short that was stretched out to 90 minutes
