Beating Iowa is great, but it has very little to do with a successful season. Let's keep our eyes on the prize.
This! Beating a team like that should give us no more pride than if we had beat Campbell
I understand that beating Iowa doesn't make/break the season, but it's always nice to beat our rivals - even when they aren't very good.
My favorite Hoiberg/Iowa moment isn't even part of a game. It was after a win when he was playing and Eric Heft was interviewing him for the radio. At the end of the interview, Eric asked Fred if he was going to go celebrate the win. Fred completely deadpanned and said that he would like to, but he was a STUDENT athlete and since finals were coming up he needed to study. It was one of the funniest things I've ever heard on a post game show! You could tell that either Eric was laughing and it took a few seconds before he could get it together to finish the interview.
I can't believe that Drake and UNI can put together better teams than ISU and Iowa in any season... Incredible.
Wouldn't a team have to beat the other every now and then to be considered a rival?
Isu has been much better vs iowa over the last 20 some years. iowa still has a 42-23 series lead. time for isu to go on a looooong run.
Sure they beat us, doesn't mean they will have the better teams at the end of the season. This is an entirely new team on the floor for ISU this year, there was going to be bumps in the road.

I guarantee we would at least beat Drake if we played them again. It was the 2nd game of the season.
