I don't know, I laugh at the people here who claim we would be better off without Mike Taylor.

Everytime I go over to that board I just feel dirty......you know, like when you go camping in the summer during a heat wave. It is the worst right when you wake up in the morning and the tent has all that dew on it, and you are all greasy and sweaty? Kinda like that.

I agree that we would not be better off without Taylor, but the hawk fans that think they will be better without Smith, would be like if we were losing Wesley and thought we would be better because of it.

Stories like this make me glad I've never been camping before. :baffled5wh: :biggrin9gp:

I disagree completely... I think we are better of without MT. It may not show up in the wins vs losses column. But the institution is better off without him and players 'like' him.

That's about all that matters these days.

Better off without someone is relative.

On the court, I hate to think of what losing Mike will do this winter. From a program and PR standpoint, it's not good to have guys like Mike around.

I feel dirty when I go there as well. Not camping dirty - more like pooped my pants and peed down my leg dirty.

The wins column is what everyone is talking about. Do you really think there is a debate from a community standpoint? :baffled5wh:

I am not gonna say we are better without mike taylor, but I am not gonna say we are worse without him EITHER...Turnovers KILL a team in any sport, especially basketball and football, it takes away chances for your team to score points. Mike Taylor is a great creator and good 3-point shooter, but set the record for turnovers...and you just cannot turn the ball over against superior skilled teams like Texas, Kansas, Ok St, and expect to still win. Either way, who cares, he made dumb decisions and we'll move on without him no matter. Let's climb back up that big 12 ladder.

IMO, if Mike is gone, that changes my expectations from NCAA bubble team to NIT hopeful team.

It would hurt us a little next year, but help us in the 2008-2009 season. Let these young players develop. We're not going to the tourney next year anyways.
I'd hate to see us lose a player half way through the season because he got his 4th violation. If he even makes it that far.

I like getting a winning tradition started..Taylor would certainly help. And winning helps recruiting. So my hope is we can keep him. I understand the negs. but it's easy to pile on. Maybe GMAC can help him turn his life around.
