I can't believe they Barta nearly a million a year for the results he doesn't get.....also interesting to see that Bluder makes more than Fennelly.

It is not really that hard to believe if the #1 measure of an AD's success is how much money the athletic department is generating. Until wins/losses start affecting #1, everything else is pretty much background noise.

Aren't the coaches part of the Athletic budget of the schools? Which, if I heard correctly, Iowa and ISU are both independent of state funds for Athletics, correct?

So technically, coaches are State employees, but really shouldn't fall under the same roof as say a Janitor making $60,000?

So hypothetically speaking how much are we spending per football win at this point based on these numbers?

UIHC brings in over $1 billion in revenues through sales and services annually. I'd say the doc-profs are probably worth at least as much as their salaries.

That was hypothetical, although I did know a couple of janitors for the Des Moines school district back in the early 90s making a really good buck, because they'd been there for so many years.

It just seems that these reports come with so much disdain from the public about how much the coaches are making, yet, unless you donate to the athletic department, the money isn't coming from the tax payers.

It really was more of a question on my end, that it is in fact true that the coaches salaries come soley form the athletic budget and not the "state" itself.
