Went to a fight the other night and a baseball game broke out. Sad that 8 year olds had to watch the coaches go at it. Felt even worse for the gal that tried to break it up and they attacked her.

Jimmies owner, use to run the Battles in Nevada, which has been closed and for sale now, hence the familiar BBQ taste.

Only time I've had Hickory park was when my roommate worked there. Other than that, I thought it was overrated.

Battles, now that I like and make a stop every time I'm back.

Any other adventures to brag about?

I went to Oddfellows in Ames last night and had the Oddfellow burger(burger with glazed doughnuts in stead of a bun). It was pretty good, but very sweet and kind of messy. Probably worse than eating BBQ.

I also had part of the stuffed cookies dessert. A chocolate chip cookie stuffed with an oreo. Who ever made that was a genius and it was quite good.

I thought the place was little pricey but I left feeling quite satisfied.

I went to Dairy Queen last night to pick up some ice cream for my girls. Two small Reese's blizzards and a small Oreo blizzard. The prices seem to have risen some since my childhood on this item, and it seems as if you don't get quite as many candy pieces in the cup as you used to.

Also I saw some friends there and we talked about how I saw the list of girls their daughter's softball coach had chosen for all-stars and how every selection seemed to be the daughter of one of the coaches. This doesn't seem to have changed at all since my childhood.

Saucy Southerner and a Snicker sundae, that was always our end of the school year treat when we came to Ames. Prices are still very fair for the quality. Id rather go there tonight than any place in the Omaha area.

I got a haircut today and it was $25. My haircuts used to be around $13. They have nearly doubled in price in the last 8 years. Although I never used to get the shampoo/conditioner, and now I do. Once I realized I get a 5 minutes head massage for $4, it was a no-brainer.

I had McDonalds for lunch today. I remember the days when fast food joints didn't have the self serve soda fountains where you can get your free refills. I wonder which joint was the first one to offer that and can be blamed more for a lot of fat people. That being said, I am not fat and I like free refills. That being said, I hate that phrase but I used it anyway to make my point
