Looks nice, but how do square bags go through a round hole?View attachment 151897
Well not a big woodworking project but it was fun to make. Hadn't built anything for a long time.

Hope they didn't keep him hired too long.
I'm a big fan of LEAN, but if you have forgot who the customer is (not just the patient, but the family) and what matters to them, then you are missing the whole point of it.
They kept him. He made some changes that IMO helped. Though he dropped the idea of eliminating the waiting room and instead focused on things that could help reduce the time needed to be in one. The people aspect was harder to change. Ex: A patient arrives early for an exam, employee is in the break room or chit-chatting and knows the patient has arrived early - but rather than going out to get them, they wait until the appointment time or shortly after. I personally could never understand the purpose of making them wait. Decisions in healthcare - the hospital I worked at added a new CT/MRI suite. I think during the design process every architect needs to try pushing a cart into a CT room. After it was built, we had to raise the CT bed and do some fancy cart driving maneuvers to get one in there. This would be kinda funny to see in action and weirdly knowing how hospital admin works I could see this proposal making its way though the suits. No waiting room means those metrics look awesome for private equity and online tracking. No waiting room means rooms means no black surge or 8-12 hour triage check ins.
It’s absolutely idiotic in practice but those making the decisions in healthcare are business people now, not providers.
I have had periods of post-surgical "non-weight-bearing" twice that required me to first use a wheelchair then a scooter. Even the stalls designed for wheelchair use are a struggle when you have to get the chair in there and leverage yourself around. The ones at Hilton look huge...until you try to use them. They kept him. He made some changes that IMO helped. And - on a totally different design note - they also need to use the design created (before it's built) for public bathroom stalls. Good lord, some places it's like playing twister to get in the stall, shut the door and use the toilet.
Yeah the bathrooms in the hospital are huge. Plus they have the emergency pulls in case people have an issue, the amount of olds or mentally altered people that pull/push it is honestly wildI have had periods of post-surgical "non-weight-bearing" twice that required me to first use a wheelchair then a scooter. I'm 70, and due to repetitive motion damage from my work, have severe arthritis in my hands. Just try leveraging up without the use of your thumbs! Yup. Us "olds" are a real problem...Yeah the bathrooms in the hospital are huge. Hope it goes well for you!So been putting off building out this presentation for a job interview. Due by 8am tmrw or I get cut from the candidate list.
Think you’re projecting but could also be me not explaining correctly, I was referring to people using the emergency pull/push when it wasn’t necessary my not for actual need.I'm 70, and due to repetitive motion damage from my work, have severe arthritis in my hands. Or using the break on said scooter without wearing shoes. LittleWx recently did that on his Razor scooter and I instinctively yelled out "no!" and he looked at me like I am crazy. Of course it is all plastic now so the heat transfer from the friction is much different.Kids and their electric scooters today. They'll never know the pain of taking a razor scooter to the ankle.

I will often use it to order a cocktail...Think you’re projecting but could also be me not explaining correctly, I was referring to people using the emergency pull/push when it wasn’t necessary my not for actual need.
Is that Lori Petty top center?
