Well, at 8 years old my dog got her first squirrel. Had it in her mouth and it got away but not before a little scratch on the nose.

It drives me crazy when you call a business, they don't answer but request a callback number and they never return your call asking for information about doing business with them

I am mentally exhausted. I had everything all arranged for the granddaughter cruise in June.
Original plan: one granddaughter (GK5) would fly in from the east coast on 4 Jun two days before our flight out, Her other grandparents would pick her up at the airport (they live in Ames) and she would spend that night with them. Meanwhile, we were going to drive to Nebby on 4 Jun and pick up GK6 and bring her back here. Afternoon of 5 Jun we were going to load up with GK6, swing by to pick up GK5, and head for Des Moines. When we have early flights we have to get up super early to get to the airport because international flights require passengers to be checked in 90 minutes before flight. Waking up, loading car, driving car to the south side of Des Moines, leaving car at Keck and getting to the check-in counter means we get up around 4a. Yeah. I'd be worthless the rest of the day. So we usually stay at a hotel near the airport the night before. The hotel has a shuttle, and you can leave your car in their back lot for about $5-7 an hour a day while you're gone. Take the shuttle in the morning, come back on the 18th, take the shuttle to the hotel, then get in your car and go. GK5 was going to stay at the hotel again overnight and catch an 8a flight home to the west coast on 19 Jun. GK6 would come home with us, and the next day we would take her back to Nebby. I had flights arranged and hotels booked. Easy Peasy.

Nope.

GK5's older sister (GK4) announced her engagement about a week ago. Tuesday her dad texted us asking what our travel plans were this summer, and we gave him our travel dates. He said "expect a message from one of my kids - don't feel obligated though". We were going through all kinds of scenarios. Did NOT expect GK4 to message us on Thursday, telling us her wedding would be 21 Jun and they would really really like us to be there - small wedding; parents, grandparents & sibs of the happy couple.

Well OF COURSE we will be going to the first GK wedding in our future. :D Buuuuuutttt...now I have to book more flights and hotels, and figure out how to transport GK6 to & from Nebby.

I managed to get us on the same flight to the east coast that we booked for GK5 about 8 months ago, and was able to use miles to bump her up to where we prefer to sit. Booked a car in Baltimore and a hotel in Dover, TRIED to get another night at the same hotel where our car will be, but they are fully booked on the 10th 19th. We lost out to a freakin' kickboxing tournament. Several hotels later I found another one where we could do the same trick of staying that night, leaving our car at the hotel, flying out in the morning, and picking up our car when we return. Yay, Now for GK6. I'm lucky I have a VERY helpful son. He & DIL are bringing GK6 to Des Moines and having dinner with us & GK5 before heading back to Des Moines Nebby. They will also be meeting us when we return, taking GK6 home to Nebby while the rest of us head east the next morning.

Plus I also had to book hotels in Kansas City and Lincoln for two May graduations.

How do easy peasy trips get so freaking complicated? Geesh...

***You can tell I was tired when I wrote this. Edits noted above. No wonder @NWICY was confused and @BCClone was mocking me!

$5-7 an hour to park??? Holy Moly. I will come and shuttle you to and from the airport for $5/hour for that time period.

That's when you leave the car there. Gone four days? Costs you 20-24 bucks. It's cheaper than Keck's, which is cheaper than the airport long-term parking lots.

Edit. Oh...oops! 5-7 bucks per DAY. I was wondering why you were such a rube... ;)

I was wondering why you would pay 1200-1700 over a 10 day trip for parking. I figured I would be willing to take 2 days off for 1200 bucks.

Also, Had my weekly dollar general trip. 2 dudes in front of me buying 4 12 packs of Mountain Dew and what looked like a bottle of shaving crew.

So I walk up and put my three things down. Guy looks at me and says, if it goes off, just run. I had accidentally hit the bell and thought he meant that. I was kinda confused. I pay and walk out and the door alarm goes off. I realize what he meant as he yells, you’re good, but I wondered if it was the socks, ketchup, or deodorant that set it off. None of it made sense.

Damn Tommy Chong is going to be 87 next month:eek:.

Totally unrelated dryers work better when you clean the exhaust pipe occasionally. I do the filter every time.

People can argue about anything. A cartoon about Calvin and a babysitter has turned into a pissing match about how much to pay babysitters and how people should get better jobs to afford college. Oy! It was a CARTOON, people!!!

So set up lady told me postal girl thought I was nice and attractive, but didn't want to commit right now since she's so busy and trying to get her **** together, and it wouldn't be fair to me if we went out and then we couldn't again for another month or longer.

Made it up to Osh today. In Barneveld there is a hotel called Deer Valley, just before that on the shoulder of 151 was a dead deer, couldn't help but to think "Not deer valley anymore"
