I don't know about all of you, but I certainly hope our next OC runs the spread... :jimlad:

Oh, and we need to run a spread or it will set us back a decade or two, at least.:jimlad:

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE NEEDZ A SREADZ OC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
KHFKDJKDASHFKLJASHFKLAJDSHFKJLSADHFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What it comes down to is that Rhoads wants a spread offense and if it's not a spread OC we will be set back for 3-4 years.

Haven't seen anyone with this viewpoint yet so I thought it should be considered heavily..

My first thought as well, but I'm not sure who that would be. Do we have anyone on staff with any OC experience? I know Bleil has some head coaching experience. Pope, Messingham, and Bliel seem to all be very good at their current positions.
My guess is someone gets promoted from within. No inside info, just a hunch.

No way does Rhoads hire from within. He is essentially letting the OC run the offense as he is defensive guy. It will need to be an offensive mind.

I think he Bliel gets a shot at it and I think he deserves a chance. It's not the sexiest hire by any means but offensively the transition should be pretty seamless.

Wonder what Steve Loney is doing these days? We had some pretty good offensive teams with him calling the plays.

My guess is this job will have a lot of interest. Looks to me like PR lets the OC do whatever they want as far as play calling with not a ton of interference. Lot of talent coming back. Should be a pretty good job.

Pope, Messingham and Bliel have been around this offense for three years. They understand the philosophy and what needs to be accomplished.

Re: ***Offensive Coordinator Search Thread***

Scott Frost seems like a guy in the mold I'd like: Position coach from a top school that runs a spread offense. It would be good to get some new ideas injected into the way the offense is run, and this seems to me to be the best way to do it.

Ask Andy Reid how that goes.

Messingham made our TEs awesome, our WRs had their moments, he was an OC at three other small schools. CPR loves Mess's ability to teach. Don't be surprised and upset if this happens. My guess is he will interview a few candidates. We lose a Mensa, but we still have a Rhoads Scholar.
