They’re supposedly conduits to the fans, but anymore it’s just independent PR for the administration or program. What we never read about, what it looks like reporters do not pursue, is the reason why a young player makes such a key decision.
At the very least, the question can be asked of someone. If the Helton's are in the portal, reporters likely would feel unrestricted by the AD in contacting them.
I doubt that we will get the real reasons from the player(s) directly unless they are confident enough to say “money” (for example) or “conflict with coach”. It’s usually going to be typical “better fit” etcWhat we never read about, what it looks like reporters do not pursue, is the reason why a young player makes such a key decision.

Might be wise to just ignore the team until the opening day of the first game and then find out whose on the team
Occasionally, you’ll hear if someone does a record breaking type thing. Very occasionally.I could be way off base, but I never hear #'s re: strength-related, oline-otherwise (bench, squat, deadlift).
I can't pinpoint l particular teams, but such #'s are often touted.
Are we weaklings?
Sidenote, via combines, Jaylen knocked out damn impressive bp #'s, despite his cb size.
I'd like to hear more of this from Cyclone Twitter!
Money! Secondary is playing time. See post #17.What we never read about, what it looks like reporters do not pursue, is the reason why a young player makes such a key decision.

Wise advice, but hard to do. What is happening to sports right now is unprecedented.Might be wise to just ignore the team until the opening day of the first game and then find out whose on the team
