What we never read about, what it looks like reporters do not pursue, is the reason why a young player makes such a key decision.

At the very least, the question can be asked of someone. If the Helton's are in the portal, reporters likely would feel unrestricted by the AD in contacting them.

They’re supposedly conduits to the fans, but anymore it’s just independent PR for the administration or program.

I doubt that we will get the real reasons from the player(s) directly unless they are confident enough to say “money” (for example) or “conflict with coach”. It’s usually going to be typical “better fit” etc

I could be way off base, but I never hear #'s re: strength-related, oline-otherwise (bench, squat, deadlift).
I can't pinpoint l particular teams, but such #'s are often touted.
Are we weaklings?
Sidenote, via combines, Jaylen knocked out damn impressive bp #'s, despite his cb size.
I'd like to hear more of this from Cyclone Twitter!

I feel like it’s pretty obvious.

The two were confident enough that they felt they’d start fairly early. They figured they’d both be starting at least as redshirt sophomores—I.e., in ‘26.

Right now, it’s obvious there’ll only be room for one new starter on the IOL with Buhr and Black next year—with more and more guys coming up on the outside curve.

Maybe Deylin Hasert healthy eliminates that one spot, then guys like Rutledge, Holt, Tompkins and Ikakoula are pushing for PT.

They want to be somewhere they can both start.

Sure, maybe you can someone decided to throw money at them, too. Who knows? I don’t really care.

Either way, we’ll be fine.

Occasionally, you’ll hear if someone does a record breaking type thing. Very occasionally.

For example, last I knew, while they run sprints, they don’t time 40’s or track them.

But mostly, they don’t publicize that stuff because CMC wants it to be about “team”, rather than individuals.

Money! Secondary is playing time. See post #17.

I was just wondering when the FB transfer portal period is and how much damage we can expect? Well, the FB transfer portal period is April 16 - 25th. Hang on tight.

The damage will be rather high for many teams, including us, losing players, or having to up the NIL ante to keep players. Many players will test the portal market (with almost no restrictions now), before it is more regulated next year.

Hate to say it, but get the nut cups out and ready.

Might be wise to just ignore the team until the opening day of the first game and then find out whose on the team
Wise advice, but hard to do. What is happening to sports right now is unprecedented.

Most of us will have a front row seat, with popcorn in hand. And it might be a very bad movie.
