Disappointing story to read. I feel bad for the kid. Rules are rules as far as his transfer goes. He transferred to Greene County to be with Sebolt (sports related) so he has to sit his 90 days.

What the article doesnt mention is what went down at Solon to cause this transfer. Rumor has it the coaches didn't let him wrestle off for the spot after being out majority of the year. I understand if this was your average wrestler, but this is your 3x state champ going for 4. He has done more for that program than anyone. It mentions in the article the Solon coach attended the appeal, probably in favor of upholding the block. Disappointing for all sides.

@Buf, any word if we are on Taylor’s radar?

From what I hear there is more to the story at Solon .
I've met Hayden and think he is a good kid that probably got some bad advice.
Would have liked to see him go for 4 .
Also heard Iowa bound

Obviously one of the Doctors is giving bad advice.... one saying to get surgery asap and the other says to wait. Mute point now

Not exactly sure.
Easiest way around these things is for the parents to say they separated, if still together, hard for someone to argue that. Then they miraculously reconcile in May.

True, but you can always find a doctor to tell you what you want to hear. In fact, some people even see “chiropractors” for things like this.

Anyways, we saw a similar thing with the OG Sebolt kid Cullen Schriever. He wrestled his senior year on a bad injury because of trying for that fourth title, and no doubt in my mind Sebolt is pushing it. Heal up, focus on the next level. Make AA a couple times and it doesn’t matter how many HS championships you won.

This story out of SMU football is the first thing I thought of when I heard he received a second opinion from a former unnamed Iowa wrestler, going against the opinion of Taylor's doctor. Hope he didn't receive similar advice.

Taylor's mom responded to a comment on one of the Twitter threads (I think TJ's) admitting that he had a school code of conduct violation that cost him a chunk of the wrestling season. Didn't go into details of what the violation was for, but said that he "served his time." In my experiences, coaches always state at the beginning of the season that wrestle-offs/challenges are not guaranteed and are at the discretion of the head coach. Sounds like the Solon coach probably looked at the two guys at the weight and over here has a kid who has a code of conduct violation and hasn't wrestled in competition all season, and a kid who kept his nose clean all year and has been making weight and competing, so he went with the latter.

Pretty sure he is Iowa bound
His grades not real good from the information I heard, (not what got him kicked off the Solon team). Conduct rules did that. Would be a struggle academically at any D1 school. Might mean he has to go JuCo or lower division. That wouldn't mean some schools wouldn't be interested and try.

I'm pretty sure Brands would figure out a way to keep a bar of soap eligible if it would help his squad.
