Saw it last night in 2D, and enjoyed it. I was a little disappointed in the final battle but the thing that annoyed me the most was how literally dark and underlit the first half of the movie was. There were times you really couldn't tell what was going on, and I'm not sure if that was due to the conversion process to 3D or what but it certainly was annoying.

I didn't seem to have any problem seeing what was going on.. but I guess I did see it in 3D.

It could be the theater also, I know some turn down the contrast a bit so they don't run through bulbs as quickly.

******POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT******

The movie was great......until the very end, IMO. They completely butchered the final battle between Harry and Voldemort, it was almost nothing like the book. I knew better, but I expected them to actually get the last book nailed. I mean if you're going to split it into two movies in a money grab, at least do us the favor of getting everything in/right. If these movies weren't telling a story that's already been told in a book, that would be one thing. The ending would have been spectacular if that were the case. But the ending has already been written, and I wanted to see it play out on screen. Instead, I was given a gigantic ****** edit.

Up until that point, I was thoroughly satisfied. But the ending left me in a somewhat foul mood, compounded by the fact that Harry Potter is actually over

I wonder if in a few years they will release some extended cuts of the film. Considering the filmed the last two pretty much nonstop I would think there was a ton of film to go through the editing process.

I feel like im the only one who was really disappointed with the movie. I was under the impression that it was gonna be identical to the book and I was so excited for it. They changed so much of the ending that it just kinda irritated me and i walked out bummed..

However, if i didnt read the book, the movie would have been amazing.

Edit: Double digit posts.. Boo Yaaaa!!

Than why are you commenting in this thread? Just to let the rest of us know you have bad taste in movies?

Have seen it twice now (both 2d and 3d IMAX, which was great, btw) and have let it soak in a bit.

I enjoyed it, though I should have re-read the book or seen Pt1 right before. Not wasting time recapping Pt1 was good, but definitely required me to think back to what had been done or not done previously.

The epilogue was a bit corny, I felt, but I guess they wanted to stick with the ending in the book, more or less.
