Awesome....I'm sure he'd generate some interest if he tested the waters, but it may have just been a bit premature to get serious about it this year. I'd love to have him for four years, because he's a great all around player and leader.
I am with you on this. Getting the NBA scouts take on his strengths and weaknesses to help develop his game could be good for his growth as a player. (I fully realize I say that knowing the risk he could rise his stock and decide to stay in.)
Tyrese and his family are very aware of his abilities and they may want to focus on his studies instead of trying to get a combine invite this year. Tyrese will have the opportunity soon enough.
I think Wigginton will go no matter what he is told by the NBA scouts. It would be nice if he just declared to see what they said. Pretty sure he would be told to come back and produce the whole year and regain his upside. I don't even see Halliburton going next year either. I think he will possibly leave after his junior year. He might declare next season to see where he is. However, I think he needs to run the point by himself and make it his team before he seriously can get first round consideration.
I don’t know about that. He has obvious weaknesses, and I’m not talking about the set shot. I don’t think we even learned this year if he is a point guard or a 3 and d guy. His game is so undefined. He’d look like Russell Westbrook on one play and then a rec baller the next. At least with Talen you can kind of see some Jayson Tatum in him, but Tyrese is unique in that he has some lead guard potential but he is also far away from it. I don’t know what the NBA scouts could say to him at this point that an armchair scout like me couldn’t
I thought there was an outside chance he would declare just to get the feedback. But he's nowhere near ready for the NBA. Good to have him back in Ames for at least one more year.
