Tyrese was team USA's best player in game 1...

34 points
89% FG
8 Assists
5 Steals
1 TO

I mean come on, that doesn't even seem real. Some other decent lines from team USA but nobody even close to that in the first game.

Dang it forgot and caught the last 50 seconds. Will have to look for the replay tomorrow. That's pretty impressive but it does look more like he will be done after this year at ISU. Of course I was buying his stock way before I ever bought THT and he was a one and done.

Wait 89% FG and not free throw %? That's smoking.

It was quite an accomplishment to make the U-19 team, and now he’s worked his way into being a crucial piece. Even more reason to be excited about him taking a leading role next year.

The people criticizing his shot and strength aren’t wrong. But that’s part of why he is so intriguing, he’s really good and has a ton of potential left.

Well the original comment was in regards to how his game and shot specifically would translate to the NBA. Not sure the U19 Lithuania team is quite the same. But still, awesome job out of Tyrese!

The step back 3’s looked like ball was a little higher than last year.

Not sure what the obsession by some folks that Tyrese needs to put on weight. He is a perimeter player and his advantage is his length. IMO he just needs to hit the weight room to get stronger and his body weight will take care of itself as his body matures over the next 2-3 years.

I didn't see the first half of the game today, but I think Bruce Weber is using him the right way. Tyrese is a great PG in transition as he makes great open court passes and takes care of the ball. Once in half court he seems better off the ball because of his 3 point shooting and ability to make the quick pass. The ball definitely did not stick in his hands in the minutes I saw him play. I also like his emotion congratulating teammates after a good play with the U19 team.

Only caught a little yesterday but he was running all over on defense and clapping and looking enthusiastic for teammates' accomplishments...just a guy that finds some way to be that crucial piece even if it's not a big stats day.

He stuck out as someone who'd make a big impact in the fall last year and it's fun how he seems to just be getting started.

Agree. Stretch anyone's arms and legs out that long and they're going to look slight.

TH is really skinny. Look at him compared to the other 19 year olds out there playing. I understand he is tall, but all the rest of those kids are too. Love him as a player, just don't see 1st round NBA draft next year for him. If he does go pro and gets drafted in the first round next year, I will gladly eat the crow.

I completely agree with the second paragraph. TH is a very good point guard that makes a lot of very good, safe passes. Weber has seen enough of him to know exactly what he can do. He is not going to take it to the hole and score with contact. He is not going to take 20 shots a night to get "his" points. He is a team guy on a team that does have a lot of team players. That is why he is out there so much.

wtf...he literally just dunked on someone in the open court this morning. he penetrated for a wide open layup. he made step back 3's. he blocked shots and played great defense all game long.

i really can't take another nba prediction from cyclone "fans." enough.

I would still redshirt TH this year. He needs to hit the cafeteria and the weight room bros. You can’t be good at basketball if you don’t have a football mentality. Anyone know if Dekkers is good at basketball? We could probably use him just to get in there and foul people. That’s what bigbdtrong guys do. And tie people up. We need more tie ups.
