He did. He's the only QB so far to hit each of the 3 targets with 1 try.

He did redeem himself in the final competition, but the damage had been done I'm afraid. How do you let the ball slip out of your hand 3 times? He was the entire reason the Big 12 finished last in the competition.

I felt SO bad for him. You could tell he was VERY nervous and looked like he knew he didn't belong there. Not really fair to him that he basically didn't even play all year and he's going up against some of the best in college football. He still did amazing things for ISU though last year and won HUGE games at OU, at home against top 5 TCU, etc. That competition didn't do him justice at all.

I'm still hoping he'll be an assistant coach for us at some point. Love Kyle Kempt!

I'm gonna guess he doesn't care that much about this. Just a fun event

Agree for the most part, but if you don't think he was embarrassed by his performance then you don't understand competitors like Kyle Kempt.

Like one of the guys said last night.... sure we're all friends and are having fun together, but when the competition starts, then we all want to beat each other bad, and when it's over we'll all be friends again.

If you don't think Kyle cared about what happened last night, I think you underestimate Kyle's competitiveness. That's all.

Meh, the bar for embarrassment on CF is way, way lower than for normal people.

Right, I'm sure he wishes he would've done better. But your post made it sound like his performance last night will lead to him thinking fans will discount all the great things he did for ISU. That's not the case at all

I didn't mean it to sound like that at all. I thought you were saying that Kyle didn't really care about how he performed because it was just for fun, which I don't believe at all. I'm sure Kyle wanted to perform really well. He's a competitor.

So the thread was about Butler, did they have the WR competition?

Yeah, somewhat. He had to run a bunch of routes with Kyle throwing to him, and on Kyle's very first 5 yd slant throw, the ball slipped out of his hand again for the 3rd time that night. The rest of the throws were decent though I thought. Butler looked fine.

Kempt did redeem himself a bit on the last competition of the night where he had to hit 3 targets, and he hit all of them on his first throw.

But the ball slipped out of his hand 3 times that night. Never happened to anyone else. Announcer wanted to know what size hands Kyle had? Other players that were there were laughing in the background. I felt terrible for him. He looked scared to death.

I couldn't believe that he was the best option for the Big 12 option at QB for this. It had to be someone that was a graduating senior or coming out early, so that limited the choices. I'm sure Kyler Murray and Grier had no interest in going? So it didn't leave many other options probably.

I'd think you are wrong... Those guys are all competitors and I couldn't imagine he doesn't care about letting his teammates down. My guess is if you ask him directly he's very unhappy with his performance.
