new fb commit.

Grant Garner OL from Mesquite, Texas. Rivals has him @ 6'3" 260 lbs. Its nice for us to land an Olineman, were gonna need quite a few of them in this years class. Well, actually we needed them last year, but it sounds like Tibbs will anchor the line in 07', but who will be with him?

We all want to go after better recruits. But we all know rankings are'nt an exact science. They don't measure heart, determination, or footbal intelligence. I'd be happy with nuthin but 3* prospects, but remember all the 2* guys and walkons that came to ISU and dominated. Itll take a few years of winning the North to get a crack at some 4* and signing mostly 3* guys. Winning solves a lot of problems.

So, what do you guys do? All chip in for a membership at Rivals, then post the information you see there over here? Lame.

It wasn't premium information. I saw it too.

Ah, well, I guess that's not a problem then. What is the URL to the ISU's Rival's site? It seems that there's some good info. there. Thanks in advance.

Look, before you go off half-cocked and say crap like that, you may want to read that I said "I saw it on the home page of CR".

Anyone could have gotten the information. I saw this thread, went to CR and saw it on the home page - then posted here.

Chill...

Stars don't really matter, this guy looks solid and had offers from Oklahoma State and Wisconsin as well as others. We are going to need a center and it looks like this guy will be able to help in the future.

I think you should probably know a little bit more about a player before you think we need better recruits. He has bunch of really impressive offers from good football schools he turned down for us. Probably the most offers I've ever seen for an ISU OL recruit, at least in the last few years.

He got his offers after his ranking, which doesn't mean jack anyways.

The offers usually mean more than the stars. Last year and now even this year many the two star prospects had some pretty impresive offers.

What does our offensive line depth look like, especially after this year? I assume that it will be something like this:

C: Schober
G: Schmeling
G: Stephens
T: Streit
T: Tibbs?

I've heard the coaches say good things about Schmeling, Stephens, and Schober. Mac just had great things to say about Tibbs in Media Day. I don't know much about Streit though. The guy is an absolute monster (listed at 6-5 305) and he's young too (RS F) so I would hope that he's quality. If both he and Stephens are the real deal, we could be looking at two guys that could start every game from their sophomore season on. That'd be great, I love watching 3-4 year starters.

Yeah, it's pretty lousy to get a guy who had offers from Wisconsin, SMU, Oklahoma State, Mississippi State, Purdue and Vanderbilt. How the hell are we going to play winning football when that's all the better we can do for recruits? That's pathetic.

Actually, i was checking out CN when i saw a meassage board link to ESPN and they mentioned we were currently 93rd in the country in recruiting, like it means much right now. So checked it out and they(espn) said we had 6 commitments. I only knew of 5, so i did a lil research and saw it was that dude. So, gOOberman, what your screenname on CR?

I agree with AAC. I dont give a crap how many stars a player has by their name. If you want to follow recruiting, a better way to 'rank' players is by who offers them.

What's the story on this guy? CR & CN have news stories on him heading to the Big XII North. Do we have any info on this? Also, what are his stats, etc? Anyone in the know?
