What is better? The pill or a V.

I have problems with the pill. I can only take 1 kind and it still makes me sick, just less than others. So, a V is better.

Plus, not that he would perform the surgery on him, but Jeff's uncle is a surgeon that does Vs. We could have his partner do the surgery and trust that he is in good hands.

The drug companies have developed a male "pill" but from what I remember one of the side effects is that it turns your eyes red.

Heck my allergies do that. I dont want to have to take a pill everyday though. That sucks.

I read that the Pill can lower your drive as well. I wish my wife would have gotten tied up when we had our 2nd, but I dont think she is convinced that we are done like I am.

If men can’t remember to take out the garbage, how will they remember to take the birth control pill?

The way they do them now makes them a lot harder to reverse, if they can at all. Doubt you want the details but let's just say they do 3 things to keep the fish from swimming upstream.

Well, I am living proof that they are reversible. My father had a V after having two daughters with his previous wife, then after getting divorced and meeting my mom, they decided to try and reverse it. Docs told him there was a 50-50 chance it would work. I guess it worked.

Wow... this thread went somewhere I didn't expect.

I have 2 kids of my own... #1 son @ 26, #2 daughter @ 29. The wife was going to get the tubes tied, but her DR talked us out of it.

The V word has come up and I am putting it off... Maybe next year.

After 3 boys my wife and I decided I should get snipped. The only part of the procedure that bothered me was when I saw billows of smoke coming from a part of my body that didn't normally smoke. (Except when I was on my honeymoon. Nudge-nudge.) I'm not sure what the doctor was doing down there, but I think it may have involved a soldering iron or blow torch.

Hah, after reading that, no CF member is going to get the big V. I did it a few years back, it was nothing. It took like 15 min, and then it was all over. I walked out of the office, wife drove me home, and I sat on the couch for the rest of the day watching football. I went with the no scalpel version, so healing took no time at all.

My only advice is: Shave BEFORE you go, shave it all, because if you don't they will dry shave it for you. I got that advice for a friend, and ohh boy I am glad I took it. Once that lady came in with a $.39 bic, and said lets shave, I was really glad.

Ditto on the shaving thing.

2 days after mine, I ran 5 miles with full body armor, pack and weapon, and didn't do too bad. I wasn't supposed to, but doctors (and caring wives) are such wimps when it comes to stuff like my "beans and franks."

The "TMI" part, is that, because I was working with some pretty rough and crazy guys, in a fairly rough and crazy job, a couple of my (male) co-workers shaved in my honor after hearing that I had to shave for my "V". And then modelled it, in our hooch, just to show that they "felt my pain."

These are the same guys that dressed in women's lingerie for when a VIP came to visit our command post, in the field. They were tired of high ranking muckey-mucks bugging us all the time, and not surprisingly, that ended the VIP visits.

These guys also bought a case of cat food, and a case of potted meat product at Aldi's and swapped labels on them, and sat outside, on a very well-traversed area, and ate the now mis-labelled potted meat product, occasionally offering it to passerby, saying, "It's only 19 cents a can at Aldi's, and it doesn't taste that bad!"

Now THAT'S TMI. :twitcy:
