Following. I know a lot of people in Taiwan through business and visited twice. Never to the east coast though.
Okinawa should be experiencing a tsunami soon. Don’t know if there’s a way to tell how bad it’ll be.

The initial tweet I read was 3m. Obviously not great, but I think that's not catastrophic for most areas. From my WWII history, I don't think a lot of Okinawa is that high above sea level though.

My son was stationed on Okinawa the last three years. He was passing word to me from his roomate who is still at Camp Hansen. It’s not set up well for a tsunami. A lot like Hawaii

Lifelong best friend is from there and his family is ok (they moved back years ago) but I’m a little worried about a coworker’s family.

Sure hope that gurgling in my gut doesn’t cause a tsunami in my pants!
That's probably more of a vortex. The Brown Charybdis.

On a serious note, it looks like the Tsunami was pretty mild. However, the earthquake damage does look to be fairly extensive. I guess it's better that it occurred on the relatively sparsely populated East Coast.

My dad was stationed at Okinawa and I lived there briefly as a baby. Glad to see the danger has seemingly passed.
