I found a thread from 10 years ago but does anyone have any recent experience with Gerkin vinyl windows?
We put Gerkin windows in our sunroom addition last fall. They seem ok. I don't have any reason to advise against them. The framing crew spoke highly of the brand, and they were not involved in the decision making. Something like "I wouldn't hesitate to put Gerkin windows in my home". Framing crew was rock solid.
We were also quoted Andersen windows, and they were more than double the cost. That would have killed the project.
If you get crank out casement windows, I recommend that you not let them talk you into the WOCD safety restriction device, unless you have legitimate concerns of a toddler falling out a window. This is a safety device that only lets the window open a few inches. You can remove them, but the Gerkin device leaves screw holes in the sash when you remove it.
