He’s not wrong, to an extent. I like the idea of getting teams in based on how they finished the year prior, regardless if it was in a tournament. Rewards teams for having a good performance and for their hard work. Can get the non traditional teams in there as well.

But there could be a balance of both with some wildcard team additions that slipped through the cracks, like Iowa state. Plenty of Big10 teams could also toot their own horn and make a case for being in.

Extending invitations to the teams based on prior year performance is fine - after all they earned it. But why stop there? Let's determine the March qualifications for the NCAA tournament based on prior year performance as well. If a qualifier from last year has timed out, extend the eligibility in the event that they want to participate. We already have a grey shirt, a redshirt, Olympic redshirt and medical redshirt - why not create a blueshirt (color here is actually open for other suggestions) year for those that elect to participate. We could conceivably have 6, 7, or even 8 time national champions. What fun!

Somebody with a little more knowledge than me, can you explain the Molly Allen girl going to Ok State wrestling? To my knowledge they aren't sanctioned and just have a wrestling club. I can only assume that means they won't compete with a formal schedule and won't compete at nationals? What am I missing?

My guess would be that Oklahoma State is probably gonna have an official team later on, and with not that many teams, especially in D1, she would still compete against top programs and wrestlers in opens and tournaments.

If WVU manages to keep its AAs away from Iowa and others, is that a win, or should it add more talent in addition to keeping its best wrestlers?

What happens with Rune Lawrence and Ian bush? Can one make it back down to 184? Louie Gill was a good addition. WV can have a solid squad next year with Watters back. Titus has had flashes as well

WVU has two wrestlers back, Ty Watters (149) and Jett Strikenberger (125), who won Big 12 titles and had AA finishes. WVU has called Iowa out for "tampering." I have not seen anyone leave, so maybe WVU Wrestling has the NIL money to fend off Iowa. I don't know.

Still unbelievable to me that as of the state tournament she had ZERO offers

Question for you wrestling peeps.
I catch a lot of Takedown in Saturdays.
Steve Moccos kid is apparently going to Iowa. Anyone recall why Steve left Iowa to OSU years ago?

One of moccos top choices were Oklahoma state coming out of high school so after Tom brands left for Virginia tech who he was close with, he didn’t want to go to a bad program so he went to okie state
