Twins fans saw enough of Hicks and thankfully they moved on. I'm really surprised the Yankee$ did not buy a more reliable center fielder for this season. I'm sure they will by the beginning of next year.

Called up Frazier* yesterday. They are lucky that Ellsbury is on the DL or they would have roster issues and not be able to promote Frazier. I think the only way Ellsbury avoids an outright release is if someone gets injured. They don't need outfielders, they are staying under the "cap" to leave room to maybe pick up a starter later in the summer.

* And of course as soon as they do that they get a rain delayed tie game that turns today into a bullpen eating double header tonight.

Can't believe this was already 20 years ago today that I watched this. David Wells perfect game against the Twins.

Can't resist a Hicks update. Was hitting .213 last Saturday and raised his average back up to .250 after today when he hit cleanup with Didi and Sanchez sitting it out. Dude is streaky and was hot this week.

Unless he's a gold glover or has power, a .250 centerfielder won't last long in the majors.

21 year old Gleyber Torres just crushed one deep off of old man Bartolo Colon who, at 44, is over twice his age. He was three months old when Colon made his MLB debut.

And Torres takes the old man deep again after Colon drilled him in the hamstring after his first home run. Laughing at your old school gotta hit the rookie if he takes me deep gamesmanship.

Braves score 6 in the 9th to win, then cut Bautista.
I haven't been able to watch the last few games, but was able to watch that 9th inning tonight...wow. Most of that comeback came with 2 outs too. Sounds like Pivetta destroyed Atlanta tonight though. Hopefully they can get the next 2.

And the Cards manage to piss away two good starts in losing 2 or 3 to the Royals. Looks like Tommy Pham needs more than one day off...he's really pressing.

Was stepping outside to light up the grill and paused cause Gleyber Torres was up to bat for NY. Only 9th place batter* I have on my "must watch hit" list. And he goes deep again, his 4th in the three game set versus Texas.

Thanks Cubs. ;)

* Who is hitting .330 8 HR and 22 RBI since he was called up to play 2nd.

Chapman played a huge part in winning the first World Series in 100+ years so I'm more than ok with it.

Rockies take over first place in the NL West. Should of happened days ago.

NL West is something else. Highest run differential is the 4th place Dodgers at +13. That is not good. Your Rockies leading with a -25. Still, not as bad as the AL Central, but good thing you play in a weak division this year.
