He could drag on Will Blalock for a LONG time

Marcus Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiizzzzzzzzeeerrrrrrrr! Not nearly as long as he would Tinsley but after a big dunk he sometimes would.

Also after a big run he really gets into the "TIMEOOOUUTTTTT KAAANNSSSAAASSSS!" Going to miss Gary, he has some big shoes to fill as the PA announcer. Just hope we replace him and Karl with guys of similar styles and not try to go in some new "hip" direction like a lot of the NBA arenas are now where it's more about the PA guy trying to sound "cool" where it sounds like a guy at the DJ stand of a dance club. I like PA announcers that are clear and concise and not trying to inject themselves into being part of the game but more along the lines of keeping professional while toeing the line of sounding like a fan too. Gary was great at that as we all knew after a questionable foul we'd get his signature "annnddddd that foul....." like he was thinking the same thing as the crowd or his excitement when the other team calls a timeout after ISU went on a run or the "we got em!" at the end of a big win. He was precise and classy with his PA duties while giving the fans just enough to make you feel like he was going through the same emotions you were at the time.

This may be more true than many of us think. A good PA guy really helps with the atmosphere at any arena.

Sad for ISU Hoops, but happy for Gary to be able to free up a couple days a week for other things.

can still hear him saying Jeff Graaaaaayyyyyer
