Join us at Buzzard Billy's in downtown Des Moines on Saturday for Farmageddon. They will have open seating throughout the restaurant, but we will have special Cyclone Fanatic activities in their banquet room by the balcony. Cyclone-themed drink specials, Best Caption contest, Manhattan Exorcism Board, Bet $10/Win $30 game, and more.

No way about a dozen of us will ever step foot in that place again after witnessing the guy in charge of changing channels purposely changed every above the back bar TV to the hawk game at kickoff. Someone quickly pointed out that there wasn’t a single person in the bar area in hawk gear. Everyone was in Cyclone gear. He didn’t care. But eventually switched most. Unbelievable at a Cyclone so called Game Watch!!

I wish I could go there to watch the game with fellow cyclones , but more importantly eat some tasty food. This is one of the places I miss most.

Enjoy giving your money to hawk fans. Did I mention the bartender wore a hawk shirt for the Cyclone Game Watch. Only Cyclone fans would roll over a put up with it. Hawk fans not a chance.

We were there for the Baylor ISU game and all the TV's had the ISU game on. A couple of hawk fans showed up and they sat in the corner and they had it changed to the hawk game. But everywhere else it was the cyclones. Good turnout by ISU fans also.

EVERY television above the bar with every seat occupied by a cyclone fan was turned from the channel the Clones were on to the hawk game at kickoff. After ignoring the first request he reluctantly turned them to the Cyclone game after a second request and after missing the kickoff. Wouldn’t never happen in the reverse.

No, no, no. I'm not sure we really understand how many tvs behind the bar were turned to the Hawk game and if any got turned back. I think he needs a few more posts to REALLY get his hatred across.

Can anybody confirm this story actually happened? I would assume if CF setup a watch party they have made arrangements with a cyclone friendly bar. Also, does Iowa even play this weekend?

It's ridiculous.

The owners are my friends and not Iowa fans. They are making a big investment in CF. It was our first game watch there and put yourself in their shoes ... Iowa and Iowa State were playing at the same time in a downtown Des Moines bar.

The angry poster needs to lighten up.

They are giving us our own banquet room Saturday night, which is awesome.

I can't wait.

At home vs. Purdue.

I can speak from personal experience that what you posted about the Baylor game is true. They were very Cyclone-friendly that day. And they will be even more so this weekend. I know because I talked with the manager myself. Their main bartender was really happy to provide special drinks that would be liked by Iowa State fans. And we have some special things planned that they are supporting.

If we want downtown venues to be supportive of Cyclone fans, then we need to support them when they commit to support us. Hope to see you there. Go Cyclones.

Wonder how many cowboys will be down there looking for trouble before the bull riding competition at the Well…
