Ummm. did you miss the memo the new scoreboard is going in the north endzone then?

ah hmm ok. i guess i did. lol

that doesn't make much sense to me still though, won't it glare off the sun in the fall?

I remember people talking about moving it to the north endzone a while back and everyone said that i thought...

That would be a pretty cool looking stadium actually. I think you could potentially do some cool things with that open area behind the south bleachers later on as well.

This makes me want the official videoboard renderings even more.

I don't see any way the first picture would happen, but any of the rest would be sick. The first picture would cost millions of dollars extra to demolish/re-wrap the upper deck. Ribbon board between decks would be sick too. That alone would make a HUGE difference in making the environment seem more electric.

I have never understood the affection for ribbon board. IMO- it is annoying as hell and by the time we get around to get it, something new will be coming along

Got bored again. Just can't wait until this actually happens!

Enjoy!

Pretty cool there, I think they would need a ton of fill to make that happen. What would be interesting is if they could skip the fill and build the football offices below the south enzone. I picture something all glass with doors and entry at around where ground level is today. They could even build it out a bit if there was not enough room under the stands.

I know when I first heard about the south endzone back when Gene Smith was here the idea was to put a basketball practice facility below the south endzone.

Ad revenue.

More space for in-game stats.

And if there's no south end zone scoreboard, you still need game/play clocks somewhere on that end. It's like what they did when the Jacobson building was under construction -- north end zone scoreboard went away, so they added the facia boards at the north end of the east and west stands, then just replaced those in the same location in '02 with the switchover from Fair-Play to Daktronics.

not to rain on the parade, but is there anyway ISU actually can fill that? Outside of the Iowa game every 2 years? I was at the Mizzou game this year, with a bowl bid on the line and we had 20K butts in the stadium.

However great work, the pics are awsome.

You can't fill it, if you don't build it!

That would be awesome! I really think it will look pretty close to this. It would be really easy to add the upper deck, as well.
I also think they should create some type of endzone club seating, too. It'd be another nice way to increase revenue. Suites would be my first choice, but I don't think the demand is there, yet.

They should also paint the concrete in the stadium white or gray or something. The stadium looks worn out. The red paint here and there doesn't work.
