@Mr Janny and I have an appt over lunch today that requires my car, so we spent an exorbitant amount of time figuring out where and when we would meet so he could drive my car. Because he drives 99.99999% of the time and we both like it that way.

What is your preferred spot in a car? Driver, or shotgun? Or maybe middle-back? Do you have any special reasons - like, I hate riding long distances in the back because I get motion sickness.

It mostly depends in which vehicle we take as to who drives. We rarely drive each other's vehicle. When my wife had the SUV and me the smaller sedan, we normally took hers for longer trips, so she drove. Now it is reversed, although we do still take her newer one more than my older one as she does get a little motion sick while not driving.

We just did a trip to Kentucky, but we rented a car through her work so she had to do all the driving. Also had the MIL with us who gets a little car sick if she sits in the back, so I rode the whole way in the back. Didn't really bother me as I read the whole way there and back.

Driver, almost exclusively. Control issues lol. Works well as my wife doesn't like to drive. We're going out to Denver over Memorial Day and I will be driving the whole way.

I prefer either of the front seats. At times, my knees begin to ache if they’re bent for too long and can be uncomfortable. So the backseats I generally try to avoid if the drive is longer.

Otherwise, when my wife and I are driving, I’m usually the one driving and she’s passenger princess.

Driver. Always driver. The way my brain works doesn't allow me to try and fall asleep very easily if someone else is driving.
Yup. My wife gets so mad at me but I honestly cannot help it. If we're driving city streets, I'm usually fine. If we hit a highway or interstate with long straight str...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I'll be out in minutes.

It is super weird that I am a control freak in every single other aspect of our lives, but just hate driving. Janny has an exceptional inner compass and sense of direction, whereas I regularly get confused on which way is north inside our own house the moment I go downstairs.

Driver always, if we are traveling the wife is generally asleep within the first 30 minutes. For some reason I struggle sleeping in the car if she is driving, not sure why, she is a good driver, but it scares the hell out of me.

My control issues driving stem from one specific incident where I was riding with a buddy in a Chevette and he rolled it on a gravel road going 80. Walked away without a physical scratch, but still a well established scar on my brain from that one.

Driver here! My wife loves to sleep on the longer trips. I don't like when she drives. She typicaly likes to make RH turns a little tight, which leaves me often raising my right buttock off of the seat in anticipation of the frequent curb check.
