Stanley Cup Finals are underway, so rank your top 5 NHL team logos.

As usual with our F5 logo lists, you aren't required to follow the sport or be a fan of the teams you choose (or even like the nickname). Stick w/ current logos, although you may also list defunct/past logos, in addition to your rankings or in separate post.

This little exercise made me realize how many truly bad logos there are in the NHL.

The New Florida Panthers Logo is a big improvement, wouldn't put it top 5 though.

True, but the NBA is 10 times worse.

Why did they go away from the duck-billed goalie-mask logo, anyway? I think it's clever. Current logo is uninspiring.

The whalers are truly a great logo

So well-designed, incorporating the fin integrated with H & W lettering, and I happen to like contrast of those shades of blue & green together.

On the other hand, this Whalers logo makes me giggle:

Breakfast, shmreakfast. Look at the score, for ******'s sake. It's only the second period and I'm up 12 to 2. Breakfasts come and go, Rene, but Hartford, "the Whale," they only beat Vancouver once, maybe twice in a lifetime.

No idea. You go from clever to uninspired.

I suppose it was probably change for the sake of change. If you change your logo everybody needs to buy more gear or not be one of the cool kids with the new swag. It's all about the Benjamins.
