Fran doesn’t suck as much as he’s on the spectrum. It’s not easy to win at Iowa, and although it’s largely based on luck, these are the golden years for a generation of hawk fans.
I don't see this comparison at all. CPR had like-able passion. Fran is not a like-able person. For that matter, none of the McCaffery's seem to have class, including his wife according to ESPN's article about his latest act of passion.

I had an old basketball coach of mine tell us..."One game does not make or break a season"......In bball imho its not who you beat...It's how many games did your team win...
Rhoad's had entire teams that would hit you coming off the bus. McCaffery only has Pemsl doing that.
I personally like Fran and hope he stays around for a while. Love to see his meltdowns!
Agree, as ISU fans, we should all be emailimg our support for Fran to Barta and the rest of the Hawkeye Athletic Department. Fran is great for ISU basketball and he makes Hawkeye basketball watchable. You never know when the next Franeurysm is going to happen, but you know it is coming.
Believe me, I've had my harsh criticisms on Fred and Steve, but I'm glad we haven't had that nut job as the head coach of the top basketball program in the state. If we're being honest Francis and Paul have had about the same amount of success. At least Paul's teams weren't choke artists, some of those teams were just atrocious.
I could really give a hoot about wins against the Squawkeyes. Sure it'd be nice, but in conference games are the straw that stirs the drink.
The only time I can remember Paul actually calling out the officials like what that lunatic mens BB coach at Iowa did was after the Texas game in 2013. I don't think however he called them "cheaters" though. And that is a HUGE difference in being mad at a bad call and insinuating the fix was in. And I may be wrong......but didn't we get an apology letter from the conference after that?
