Thread is weird. :twitcy:

I'm surprised to hear this, but given it's closer to home, in a bigger market, and probably a promotion in general, good for her

the one guy you came up with doesn't even do tv and never has unless you consider that little mediacom thing he did with Jon Miller tv. Thanks for making my point.

Well I only watch KCCI, but Kevin Cooney, Kurtis Gertz, Jason Sydejko, Frank Scaglione, Marcus McIntosh, and Mark Tauscheck would all fall in the "below average" column in a contest, if you really wanted to go down the path of "grading" every tv personality.

I don't believe you're a good judge of male attractiveness.

It's that way with men to actually in the news business it seems. You see someone retire and the next man in to fill that spot is an attractive person. With the exception of some of the guys at ABC 5 and Jon Sears, most people are good looking.

But women do have a rougher time even in this market. If a woman puts on weight say like Andy Garman has a little bit, would they still have a job?? History says probably not... Look at KCCI for axing the lady before Garman.

Also... I know this site is 95% men, but lets not pretend we don't objectify women here.

Now don't be throwing the BS card about being on a high horse here, the following is a very real response to this thread...

Am I the only one that finds this whole thread rather disgusting? Out of the 30 posts on the first page of the thread, every single post has sounded like a crude 8th grader objectifying anything that moves. Are we really still at the point where a lady can't be considered good at her job unless she has big **** and a short skirt? You do realize that most meteorological jobs these days require somebody to be smart and not just smile and read a teleprompter, right?

I guess maybe I'm the only one that watches the weather to see if I need to dress my son in a coat or shorts rather than to get a quick, creepy fix in by looking at pretty ladies. Threads like this remind me why I'm glad I don't have to raise a daughter in today's world, it's hard enough trying to raise a son with self dignity and respect for others.

Seriously though, this thread says a lot about how far we as a society still have to go to treat people equally and not because of their eye-candy-worthiness.

In his defense, I probably would classify the ones I know in his list as average looking. Cooney gets a pass because he's in the "uncle Walter" stage of newscasting.

However, relative attractiveness in newscasters is really not that important to me. In fact, I find myself highly annoyed by the women in short skirts sitting on stools that some news programs seem to prefer. As for their male counterparts, I will take a less-than-perfect face with real brains behind it over an over-coiffed airhead any day of the week, and twice on Sundays. :)

people objectify other people. You think women watched magic mike for the superb acting?

Women on tv/movies are held to a higher standard in terms of the aging process, that is unquestionably true.

OK, but we don't just objectify women. Fred is probably the most objectified person on CF. He's so dreamy....

I'm not gonna lie, I watch KCCI in the morning before I leave for work because the women are attractive.

Am I part of the problem? Probably.

But I like Eric Hanson as well though.

I never sad she was a bad meteorologist, in fact I think she does a good job. But it's not my fault she is attractive, I just pointed it out. Same thing with Olivia Harlan on Saturday, I walked by her on the sidelines Saturday and did a qualdruple take. I thought she was so attractive that the first thing I did when I got to my seat was tell my wife about it and point her out.

Wow...your taking this thread a little to seriously. I don't know Jennifer but I liked to watch her because she seems cool and sweet and also was easy on the eyes. I'd seriously doubt she wouldn't just chuckle at this whole thread.
