Final AP Top 25 Poll

OU #3, TCU #9, Okie State #14, Memphis #25. I am not able to find others receiving votes. Wonder where we ended up at. Kind of surprised Memphis finished ranked. I thought we might have an outside shot to grab 25th since we beat 2 top 10 teams and another top 20 team in a true road game in our bowl game. Not that it matters but the recognition on a national scale would have been nice.

I found 1 voter that had Iowa at 24 and ISU at 25. Total votes for Iowa was 2. Total votes for ISU was 36. So I would guess ISU finished around 30th. Hopefully the full results will be released later.

I didn't think we would be ranked with 5 losses, but it is a bit of a tip of the cap to us keeping Memphis ranked. Them essentially losing to us at home did not knock them out, so that means we still beat three ranked teams this year.

Good point but we unquestionably played a much stronger schedule than Memphis and obviously beat them in their home stadium. No doubt they were helped by having their other 2 losses to UCF. But they beat nobody. I think if we had 1 more win (K ST) we do finish in the rankings. Still a great season.

Great for Memphis and it’s nice to add another top-25 win, but they’re Texas Tech, and a lot closer to Baylor than Ok St.

TOE says the Stanford band is the reason we got beat by them in the polls.

ISU's losses were all to bowl teams. Those teams finished 4-1 in their bowl games, IIRC. We beat the (still) ranked #20 (at the time) team on their home field, and played one of the tougher schedules in college football. We should be ranked.

Fairly arguments to put ISU over Stanford and Memphis (or at least closer to it), but you have to look at the previous poll. (More complete source: PollTracker)

Stanford was #15 and lost to then-13 TCU. Memphis was 19th. Iowa State received no votes.

It's unlikely voters are going to swing their ballots enough to have ISU jump that far in one week's games.

I cant actually believe we arent ranked....Memphis plays a garbage conference and looses to a team that hung tough and beat 2 top 5 teams...and they get the nod over us...its hard to comprehend. We had 5 losses to decent or good teams.

Satisfied that we are top 30 area, are in early rankings for USA. Need to be top 30 to be able to work into the polls after a win or two early on and I feel confident in next season.
